Me too, I’ll post more pics when I get them.. she has some attitude. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Recently I threw on the thin w/walls and Chrome wheels just to change up the look. Then my Brother and I rode out to Dayton, Ohio to check out the Egyptian’s open House. 200 miles from home the “old girl” quit on our return trip. So... the old adage of “chrome don’t get you home”, but you can still look presentable broke down on I-70 West...is still true....... At least the Ohio Highway Patrol thought so...and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you OHP. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
@mercman@bulldog Like the new shinny shoes. Sorry to hear about your mechanical problems, hopefully you can find the issue soon. Does look real kool even on the truck.
Hello guys, I show you some photos of my merc 50 'mild custom. It took me more than 4 years to finish it in a very difficult job here in Mexico, but we finally made it. I KNOW THAT IN THIS FORUM THERE IS THE LARGEST GROUP OF EXPERTS IN MERCURY 1949-1951 IN THE WHOLE WORLD and I know that this exposes me to the most expert criticism, but that will help me to appreciate the fruit of my years of research effort here at HAMB and everywhere in the that I have been able to access. With respect and humility, I ask my "Paco Blue" for your expert opinion. Thanks for taking the time
@Pacorro I'm no expert on Mercurys but I do know that you've got a great looking mild custom Merc there. Nosed and decked, shortened side trim. Swapped out the big '50 turn signals on front for smaller '49 Merc. Red wheels and '57 Caddys and to top it off, proper ribbed/pie crust tires. I'd say you nailed it.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment and it motivates me to go out and shoot proud of the work accomplished
Thank you very much, how good it feels to fit into this community of experts and connoisseurs of custom culture and that my humble work is accepted among you guys
You can follow all the work in this thread: A NEW MERC TO THE ROAD! I hope you have fun and spend this quarantine time with my simple contribution. It seems that other boys have had a good time with my odyssey in this merc!
Hi Pacorro, You did this RIGHT! The car looks great and is period correct also, very nice execution of a classic Kustom!
@Pacorro, it's Right on the Money!! That's a very fine example of a period correct mild custom, love the 49 marker lights on a 50, tastefully shaved front and back, flush skirts, very nice tuck and roll interrior. The car is fantastic, don't let anyone tell you different. By the way, you don't need help from the hamb, you already are one of the experts here.
Dragginwaggin what a stimulating comment, it seems that the years of financial sacrifices, hard work and many hours of research have been worth it, it is to recognize the generous and selfless work of my friends who were motivated when I presented my restoration project to them and they delivered 100%. But from that to being an expert there is a long way to go Dragginwaggin. I am honored and satisfied with my "Paco Blue"
Wait, that’s a 49 isn’t it? I notice the front turning lamps, 50 or 49? Still beautiful though man! Nice color combo Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well Merc Man, I have seen that the turning lamps are more beautiful on the 49 'and since it is mild custom they are very elegant, I think it is quite correct to put them. I'm glad you liked it
