My uncle bought this new the year he graduated high school in '65. We lived next door to him so I grew up with the car, lusting for the car actually and rode in it once a week when he was in 'Nam and his mom drove it to keep everything happy. He passed away suddenly and I inherited it 'bout a year ago. Certainly not the way I wanted to get the car but I'm grateful to have it. 27,XXX original miles, no rust. He even had the original wheels and hub caps in the Cragar SS boxes. He put the Cragars on in '66. Been sitting since '82 while most of his time was spent on his lemon orchard. My grandson wants it someday!

"...When they first installed the HEMI into the vehicles in the early 50, Chrysler felt that because of the advance engineering of the engine that it alone would sell the vehicles. Thus they did not do much to the outside design to those vehicles. While other corporations were aiming at making their vehicles long, low and lean, Chrysler was still making their rolling cigar box design without change." To quote KT Keller: we build them to sit in [with a fedora] not piss over.
Enjoying this thread. Mopar or NO car!!! LOL The Adair collection has me drooling. I need more money. A lot of HAMBers who I rarely see have posted on this thread. Go tell the rest of your Mopar crazy brothers to come out.
My parents owned 9 or 10 Mopars between 1963 and 1987. Slant 6’s and 318’s. One was a used 62 Dart 4-door with a 318 Poly and Push button TF that Mom drove for about 3 years. It was well used when they bought it, but it was Fast! And I didn’t think it was ugly at the time, as many people do now. I copied this image to show the beautiful grille.
Have more that I can't post on here. Meep Meep Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Montana Boyz, Tony Smith, Pedro, Earl Edgy. They build speed parts for Chyrsler Flathead 6s and 4s too.
Mopar? I guess I’ve become a MOPAR guy. ‘52 DeSoto wagon, Hemi powered. The original, rebuilt 276 is gonna be wrapped around this Model A roadster and ‘32 frame, and our “real” cars are a Hemi 300c and a RAM pickup. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Here's my 31 Plymouth coupe. 392 punched out to 468, 6 speed. At the gas station with Racer X's nitro coupe
Seeing all these nice cars has brought back a lot of good memories. Seems I always had a Chrysler product but I let them all go. 64 Dart that had a 340 and a 4 speed, 31 Model A roadster with a 340, 68 & 72 Chargers, 71 Cuda, 69 Super Bee, a few 72 Darts and assorted jeeps and trucks. Nothing spectacular but they all were a lot of fun.
