I have a similar repair to do on some boards I picked up. Car had slipped off of jackstand, and it put an upwards dent in the board. Very close to that location. Did you use wood or any other material to protect the rubber cover?
I taped a quarter inch thick piece of rubber to the bottom of the hydraulic ram and use that on the rubber side, to push it down a little bit and then I stuck a block of wood under it pushed a little more, then I used a brass hammer on the bottom and a block of wood on the rubber part to push the dent out a little bit when I was done. Then I use the block of wood with the brass hammer to straighten the edge. Hope that helps?

Should, I guess it might also depend how old the rubber is to? Just take your time, an analyze how the dent formed in reverse in slow motion in your head. As you push, pull, tap. Etc.
Don't know exact age, but they are repop boards, that the PO put on Craigslist after the jackstand altercation. The metal looks like it might be stretched a bit too, but I'll get to that once I start on the board.
I’m on a spending spree! I bought new wood! There’s one place in the country that still makes it as far as I know Classic would products I think they’re in North Carolina, but I bought it through Macs auto parts they have everything! There’s a six month waiting list on some of the wood because they are so busy which is a good thing! (I ordered the rear window wood too)
Even though I restored some of these parts, I can always sell them and make some of my money back, when I’m done with the car.
I’m starting to get out-of-control! I’m like an adult kid buying adult size toys! This is just some of it, there’s more coming, plus I have more around the garage! They’re talking about a big Covid thing again! So if I get on lockdown again I’ll just live in the garage! And be busy for a long time!

So, my Pops put the original style mechanical pump on the engine so he could run the vacuum wiper on hills and not lose vacuum and such. So I started looking into this whole thing, and decided that it’s basically reengineering half the engine just use a stupid vacuum wiper! Because I can’t use the stock throttle I’d have to get a spoon cable, I have to modify the breather tube up front because it hits the bigger water necks, and had to Jerry rig the carburetor to fit the vacuum port on the mechanical pump.etc.... So basically I could eliminate all that by just using electric wiper from speedway, that way I can hook the throttle back up the way it was before, I can plug the front breather hole With a freeze plug, run the rear breather for better flow, and the PCV up front will hook up to the back of the carburetor with a hard line and just put a Electric fuel pump on it like it had before! So I started reading up on Flathead’s, and saw an article or thread on the ham about plugging the fuel pump hole several different ways, so my way is just to flip the fuel pump rod over so the lip holds it up off the cam, and cut it to where the breather would hold it in place. that way it will keep the oil from coming up and possibly losing pressure like some guys say and other guys say it doesn’t matter! but I figure it’s a real EZ thing to do...so I’m gonna try it.
Well after the “Howells” debacle, I ended up getting a SAR gas tank cover and they shipped it the next day! It’s stock without a recess but oh well I kind of actually I’m glad now and it was way cheaper! Also on a good note I got my gas tank back from my old school radiator shop guy! He boiled it, cleaned it Red-Koted it! and even painted it for me! What a guy! shout out to Chris at Auburn Radiator!
Well I measured the axle again for the 50th time just to make sure that it is the correct length again! And I ordered the correct ones from Dutchman axles! And it is because they said Better make sure it’s right....because “That’s an expensive pair of boat anchors if you don’t get the measurements right”! It’s all good I’m happy!
Doll, I did the same thing when I was building my cars. I liked going over to my cabinet and pulling out a part and not having to wait for it from UPS. One word of caution though, if you order something from Rock Auto, it is impossible to return it after 30 days, even if the part is defective. I learned the hard way.
Thats the new stuff on the floor, I put the new axles in the new diff, and went and measured the old one still in the car
Looks like the SW sending unit is still good Got a cool Art-Deco heater in an ebay auction And My SAR Tank cover, looks beautiful! Its a United Pacific Though. I thought Steves had there own stamps? Maybe they sold them? Hope it fits as good as it looks! (Might just hang it on the wall)
What are the Odds! I scored a 33 sedan rear seat that’s covered nice! The guy was updating his seats, and I just happen to have a 33 that needs them check out my seats 500 bucks? Can’t even get new springs for that! New One: Old one: “Yum!”
