I was born 1948, my family did not have a TV until 1953. My Mother, older Sister and I would sit around the radio ( I remember a big floor model with a round top) and listen to the Green Hornet, Inner Sanctum, a singing cowboy show( Gene Autry ?) the Lone Ranger I think, more I can't remember this am. I have many good memories from those family times, (popcorn, pop) looking at all the older photos trips memories for me, a big positive of the HAMB. Thanks for the picture/memories.

  17. I like the old photos of people and their cars...like the cars meant something to them. Can you imagine someone today saying: "Hey, Honey, round up the kids and dog, and let's go out in the driveway and take a picture of the family and our new S*@tbox 2020 crossover"? I guess people didn't always take their cars for granted like we do now (or are not proud of their S*@tbox 2020 crossover).

The answer is don't buy s**box crossovers. I absolutely like taking pictures of the vehicle in our driveway. You just have to be careful and selective of what you buy. There are still vehicles out there that are worthy of a photo.:)

I completely agree and had the same experience; born in '44, TV in '51. Theater of the mind is a great experience.

You guys have great memory. I have CRS. I can recall some things about being a kid, even some of the shows I used to watch.
I know my grandparents listened to the radio a lot but even they had a TV. They only watched TV at night. They never had a color one. Even when the old one gave out when my grandmother was a widow, she insisted on getting another B&W set.
I still like watching the old shows when I can can but I've noticed they're heavily edited to allow for all the @#!$ commercials now. There were maybe three short commercials at each break then and no more than 1 maybe two breaks. Now the @#!$ breaks are so long and frequent I forget what I was watching.
I Netflix now but I can't stand that most of the shows and movies worth watching are rated MA. Too much sex worked into just about everything.
Sorry just ranting. Now let's get back to our regularly scheduled program.
