Those vintage race cars look bad ***! I've always wanted to build something like that, but make it street legal.

had a '47 Ford with stock steer box that wanted to "just" bolt on a Vega box - had 3 "just" bolt on and go adapters - none worked as advertised - got a 4th, this time stainless steel - did not fit without bending it to get everything to line up

my small cash stash is being funneled to Christmas now

    - good that you picked up another project to work on - never bored

Ha! Well if you look closely you may see two drawers marked “ tools”! I am a compulsive tool buyer! If I’m at a flea market or garage sale and see a huge bargin on tools, I buy! So that’s were I store my overflow! My Mac tower is full of tools! I know I have a problem! I know I need to do a twelve step program. My name is “Bones”... I am a tool buyer! :(

Lloyd, what sort of finish are you using on the grille? Did you get a lot of snow? Really don’t miss that!

You might not have much space, but you sure use what you have very well!

Well, to start with- no heat or insulation in the shop, the concrete floor settled and has a distinct slope to it. Then of course there is the money thing, not enough to go around or too many other interests to spread it around for.
But motivation has sure been a big factor; this whole year has been a drag and it is tough to get going.

Oh yeah- waiting for powdercoating to get done on the last batch of parts so I can ***emble the ch***is and move on.

Well my buddy that owns the machine shop bought the alsa chrome stuff and used it on his 55, doesn't look bad, doesn't look perfect, but he told me i can have what's left. The problem is, the rest of the chrome on the car isn't that good, so it would look goofy to have a nice looking grille with a rusty bumper lol. We had about 2" of snow the other day, but since then it's just been blowing snow that doesn't amount to anything. I swear I'm gonna head west one of these days! I hate cold weather

If it makes you feel better Lloyd, I would say we have gotten better than a foot of snow up here in the last week.

As a fellow one car garage owner, it’s nice to see someone else that doesn’t have a decked out eight car shop with multiple lifts in it.

I hit the like ****on because there's not a "made me piss on myself" ****on lol. I couldn't do it. I've always heard that we need "winter" to kill the bugs, but I'll just get a bug zapper. There's NOTHING good about winter.....

I'm a 2 car garage guy. Need about 6 bays, but that plan was put on hold by termites. But i put out a **** ton of work here. It's the guy in the shop, not necessarily the shop itself.

I've got some serious wrist issues (both of 'em) that they haven't been able to diagnose.

Dexterity and grip strength went to hell. I can put a socket on my socket wrench. I cannot take it off the socket wrench.

    I ain't even old.

Well, so far so good! We were exposed last Monday, no symptoms yet! But we have had to turn down some really nice invitations this week, to keep our friends safe! That’s how it works out! Noboby asked us anything last week! Lol

Edit: just got a call, one of the daughter in laws is coming down with it! I better head to the medicine cabinet and take 100CCs of Crown!

Don’t have one. Our Victoria is at the Air Shop
In Santa Ana and fit problems gave me the time to go up in the storage area above it and throw stuff I haven’t seen in 30 years away. My trash and recycle containers are full and it’s great I can see the rafters. I still have a way to go but it’s a start. So Cal weather helps.

This is the first, verifiable one for us, as we are retired, we stay away from folks! I had scheduled a last trip around the ranch tomorrow on side by sides, with my terminal brother in law, but had to put it off. Due to his kids and my kid being there. That ****s. Just don’t want to be responsible for making anyone else sick. I’ve only seen my Mom a couple of times since March. I Have lost several friends to this ****! So I take it seriously!

Seems as I get older, it’s hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. In March I had big plans for 2020, come home from work and start cleaning stuff out and clearing space to get back on my projects. Then due to the pandemic I got put on an overnight shift from 4 pm to 2:30am, one fellow went out on FMLA so there was 3 of us to cover 4 shifts. One guy refused OT. So two of us were now covering 3 shifts. Some weeks were 4 night and 2 day shifts. Sorta took the oomph out of me.
Looks like things are going to get back to “normal” though for us, the guy who’s been out is coming back in January. First order of business will be finishing the kids Fbody engine and ****** swap( been on stands since April) then work my way down the driveway and into the shops.
This year’s paychecks have been nice, but looking forward to some free time again!

This for me, felt like I was in a funk for a few years, but I started coming out of it about 4 weeks ago. Here is my postgame ****ysis why:
    • I had alot of home/yard/garage projects stacking up and I couldn't get motivated.
    • May seem a side note, but I think it's VERY important, now... I had next door neighbors I simply couldn't get along with because the whole family, etc was just outright disrespectful to me because of their at***ude ("it's their world and I'm just living in it".) I didn't realize how big a deal it was, causing me to hide out in my house because I simply didn't want to interact with them any more because of their open disrespect to me & my property (90% of starts/started with the Mrs. who set the tone with rest of the family and is a mean drinker). I even would time my comings & goings to some degree with them being outside, and chose not to intereact with them at all, if I could help it. I heard six weeks ago, or so, they were moving. Didn't really realize it at the time, but it lifted my mood and I started doing small projects needing to be done. Jumping forward - they moved out two weeks ago and I've been happily outside and in the garage most days since. I'm cooking more instead of foraging, and even opened the blinds on that side of the house, for the first time in a long time. I've even noticed my sense of humor returning. Not proud of it and I need to take responsibility for it, but it's amazing the effect ****py neighbors can have on your mood. If you'ld asked me six months ago, I wouldn't have figured this out.
I offer this up to anyone who may be in a similar situation so they might take a closer look at their stressors.

    Happy Holidays to all,

    Scott/Gotta56forme

You would think being retired I could get something done in the garage, but this covid **** has been a mixed blessing for us, Brenda's shop was deemed none essential and lost her employees, their age was against them and they were o;d enough to retire and took it.

We like to eat so Brenda & I worked behind closed doors until she was allowed to reopen, several of her compe***ors were unable to weather the storm and with some of the other shops closed she is staying busy, unfortunately as long as people are making more money on unemployment they don't want a job, that's where I come in, I have always helped when she needs me to.

I have always helped with accounting but I have also taken up the slack and am there to answer the phone and also act as a delivery boy when need be, I'm not complaining but I don't have any free time lately, I have several small jobs in the garage that need attention but I just ain't up to that late night working in the garage anymore.

I had a plan for today and I woke up sick as a dog,so it the couch for me today. HRP
