Cool project Mitchell, keep us updated.
Interesting rear bumperettes, are they stock?

Those bumperettes look aftermarket, kinda J.C. Whitney-ish to me. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Don’t think so. I might even clean up the bumper /ball hitch and leave it. It’s been there a long time lol

It’s home safely off the racks. Got a new set of tires rolls around easily.put them back on same wheels. Also seven dollars later at the car wash. Washed most of the crap/lichens/moss off. Got to clean the inside and evaluate. Will post some pics tomorrow. Tired and wet. Beat the rain. Kinda

Here ya go. Remember I have every piece of the front grill/bumper and grill bar. Lens’s are bad but hey they make new ones every day. Or even a good set of used. Also have headlight bezels.
    Now. Some questions.
    1. What is the plate on the left side of the rear bumper. The oval hole. Where do I get one. Haven’t seen one by itself.
    2. Anyone got two used windows for a sedan door. I would rather have used because the others are aged but still in decent shape.
    3. Would you believe the windshield and rear windows are perfect.
4.Who really has the best stuff for the 57 as in new if I have to do that route for the bent trim piece on the drivers fender.
I really am trying to leave it as is guys. I know nobody believes I can. Lol

That's where the reverse lights went. I think Danchuk and Ecklers have the delete plates for those holes. [emoji6]

Blank plate is just a filler plate, Bel Air's had the back-up lights there

I would call it a reverse light delete plate. Reverse lights were optional on all models, cars ordered without them just came with the little bullseye block off plate.

Get yourself a Danchuk catalog. Many USA made parts.

    And the lights.

  15. Nice catch!

Didn't see a response to your disc brake question. I have used '70 Monte/Chevelle rotors and calipers on mine and S-10 rotors and calipers mounted on Height's drop spindles.

The Monte/Chevelle combo will work on the stock spindles.

Thanks for that info/ on the brake conversion as well as the delete plates. Yep that's them. I do need me a cat from Danchuk.
Made a decision to put one of my early small journal 327s in front of the muncie. Might freshen it a little but probably stock for the most part. I do have the 283 that came with it but it just makes since. Plus I can always build a 301( 302) from the 283 , I think I can find a set of std 302 pistons used pretty cheap.

Cleaned out the inside today. Found a few spots in the floor pan but for the most part none that will require a whole replacement. My normal test is a sharp punch and see if I can punch through with a good shot. And to drill in suspected areas to see if it actually is thick enough to weld and go from there. Wes used 1/8 diamond plate that was formed to the shape actually it is a good repair for the day. Can’t see it from the bottom. There was spot in the truck where Wesly had a trunk mounted battery. Will need some attention.I will Eliminate the spare tire dip all together. I think I will buy all four of the floor pans and do the partial. The two spots where it’s completely through Ill repair and but weld. I’ve never seen a tri five from our part of the world that didn’t rust in those two areas. Over all pretty solid for a car from this part of the world.

Also decided to eliminate the back seat all together. Like a business coupe. Bare and straight to the point. I kept the seats. But somebody needs the back one.

Not bad at all, the inner rear wheel houses seem pretty intact, and that's a common spot for rot. By Wisconsin standards, that car is "almost rust free".

    "Header numbers are 1002 L and 1002 R."

The letters are for Left and Right sides – so the installer won't put them in exiting towards the front.

Pans and disc brake kit came in. Now it’s time to clean out the shop at the house so I can survive the next 77 days

I think Egge still makes +.125" pistons for a 283.. You might want to look into that... The 283 crank will drop into a small journal 327 block with the stock bores and Egge pistons....;)
