Mario Andretti in September of 1966 at the Hoosier 100 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Mile in Indianapolis. Is that AJ Watson talking to Mario and was he the Chief Mechanic of the Dean Van Lines car? Mario would win the 1966 Hoosier 100 over AJ Foyt and Arnie Knepper and Mario would win the 1967 Hoosier 100 to make it back to back Hoosier wins for Mario. Were those rear tires both Firestones and were they 16 inch wheels? A John Mahoney photo
I don't remember who Watson was working for in 66, but that sure looks like his flat top. I think Clint Brawner was the head wrench for Dean.
Hi Maggie Is that Multnomah Falls in winter we enjoyed our visit there, nice walk to top of falls Noel
Evelyn Margaret Sempier (née Ay; March 8, 1933 – October 18, 2008) was winner of the 1954 Miss America beauty pageant.
Love this thread. Got me curious as to when and why was left hand steering adopted as SOP here in the states ?
Watson was working for Bob Wilke. And that isn't him talking to Mario. Looks like he has Firestone on his shirt.
Na she fell https://v.redd.it/poeoe1mhvy861/DASH_240.mp4?source=fallback Changing back on their way home?
Same car. I love the beauty, simplicity and very early twin cam techknology. It looks like watch makers built an engine! The whole car looks great!
That's amazing to see a Durant on the HAMB a few posts before.. We had a 1929 Durant when I was young. That little fella in the picture is yours truly. It wasn't a Hot Rod but probably contributed to my love for cars. I remember going with my Dad to pick up the bumpers after he had them re-chromed. This picture was taken at our home in Detroit. The house in the background was our neighbors. Last year when I drove by the old neighborhood, the neighbors house was gone and just a grass lot. The neighbors teenage girl used to baby sit me & my sister. She was a******** bunny but I didn't have a clue at the time what that was.
