I read a lot of old period magazines since I’m only 52 I wasn’t around for customizing my car I get ideas and what they actually used so I can customize mine as a period correct 40 ford. My era I am concentrating on it’s late 50s early 60s

My friend Dan Hanke's 324 Olds powered (since 1956) 40

 

Dont think I've poste d this before, this is my friends 40 sedan. He finished last year, 283 on standard trans, stock rear end, dropped beam, pancaked rear cross member, modified floor for rear clearence, and a bunch of body mods for a trad custom.

Wow! I love those skirts!!

 

This was the early 60's look for sure.

 

I'm partial to the "hot rod" version, but I do dig the kustom version. I do also like the use of '41 bumpers. Very cool.
