A.J. Foyt and Parnelli Jones, both incredibly young looking, seem to be checking out the engine in the Bob Estes sprint car, in 1960.
[[/QUOTE] My Pop was station at Bunker Hill AFB just north of Indy. I think that it was 1960 when we went to the time trials for the Indy 500. My Pop was talking to Parnelli Jones from over the wall where the cars were coming into the Pits. he invited Parnelli Jones and his crew to come up to the base for a cook out. Sure enough about 8 guys show up at the gate of the base. We went and got them on base and took them over to a hanger to look at a few jets (KC-97, F-104 & F-102). All of the crew members got to sit in the A/C but due to restrictions could not take any pictures. I was pretty young but do remember my Pop and some of the crew making a few beer runs, that day.
