History 34 Ford out of Omaha Ne

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by TRI5LOVER, Nov 23, 2020.

  1. That car is too cool. What a history, being a drag car and land speed car both. Plus I am sure a lot of street stories to go along with the car club involvement over the years.

...After some tedious searching I have located the pic I had shared of this Racing coupe with its sinister profile...

@tdog, Congratulations...I hope you start a thread on this survivor...It's certainly one that I've never forgotten since I first shared it many moons ago...and now it's being resurrected...that's certainly a win win in my books...

I take it that this will be strictly a Drag/Dry Lakes Coupe and not Streetable for at a minimum seeing out the back window...:D

I would take the opportunity to thank Hamber @Nitro Marty for sharing his Late Fathers Camerawork that is nothing short of Hamb Gold and right in the thick of such a great period in Hotrod/Custom...

Many seem to think Cali was it...IT was everywhere...so much greatness to be appreciated from everywhere Hotrod and the other zines and shows spread the gospel...

  5. Having arrived in Omaha in 1980, I've never heard of this car but I LOVE it! My coupe was a jalopy racer, #72 in the Omaha area way back in the day. I owned Bud Burdic's old 32, 5 window from Omaha but it was too rough for me. Ron Baker owns it now. Loved the video. I think I met you at Speedways Coffee deal....I was with Ron and you were with your dad....black 32 Ford.
Will you return it to race-only status or occasionally street driven? speedwayday2.jpg ROCKYS32.jpg 34indrive8_18.jpg

  15. Really dig what your plans are for this great old Neb. hot rod. I am the owner of the news paper clipping that you have a photo of. If I remember right I sent it to Nick a few years back. It is the original clip from the paper. If you would like to have it let me know and I will send it to you. Its hung on the wall of my shop for years. Dennis

Very likely the same car. This car had a home made 4 x 2 intake that put the carbs over the runners of an a stock 2 barrel intake. factory 2 barre had a block off plate. You could buy a kit from JC Whitney to help you get started on such an intake. I had the pleasure of speaking the gentleman who helped fab the intake for this car back in the 50s. He also welded the chop on the car back in 54.
