Need some help. Thinking about changes tire out. Should I leave as is, or go to black walls. Don't want anything super wide in back. Thinking excelsior radials, or similar. Thoughts/help much appreciated. Don"t pay attention to hood misalignment, reworking hood hold downs and trying to decide if I'm going to put hood back on. Been running it like this for a few years.

Yes, BLACK WALL TIRES! it will completely change the character of the car. I think '33's were Ford's high water mark. Tom
If that was my car I would want whitewall tires on it. The red is a great color but it really comes to life with the white on the tires I think.
Just take six inches out of the roof and no one will care about the tires! [emoji102] nice car whatever you do! Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
The Excelsior Radial looks a little Race/Dirt Track...the Auburn Radial by Diamond back better mimics your current Piecrusts...Coker has a Bias look Radial as well but it's not a Piecrust knockoff...I'm sure someone will gladly take those off your hands...sorry you're switching out the past in a way...
Thanks for the help everyone. I took the advice of J. A. Miller and posted on the photoshop thread. excited to see what it might look like with the black walls.
Put whitewalls on one side and blackwalls on the other side. That way everyone is happy. You can't see both sides of the car at the same time anyway. I'd be surprised if anyone even notices. .bjb
If I owned your car, I would put fenders back on it and leave the top unchopped, or leave the fenders off and chop the top. Blackwall tires with Halibrands, ET III's or early Torque Thrusts in either livery.
Thanks to The Moose for his help over on the photoshop thread. Totally different vibe. Now just need a slightly taller rear tire.
well....I think it needs a set of American Torque thrust wheels with black tires but even if you were driving a 49 Packard I'd vote for Americans...jus me.
How about a set up like this 145 x 15 (24" tall) front on a 5" wheel and 235 85 x 16 ( 31" tall ) on a 16 x 7 wheel. Total different look from the Halibrands it had on it
Buy another set of wheels with black walls. I could not decide on my ride so I have 2 sets. 1 x red wheels with white walls and 1 x black wheels with black walls. All tyres American Classic radials - bias ply look. Glen
