Technical Any vehicles come with disc/drum non power assist?

    My '56 210 has a CPP front disc kit with the stock rear end and a non-power dual Corvette style M/C. Stops great.

    Available on mid 1970s novas as well, I frequently saw them on disco era 1975 up models.

  11. I had a 2000 Ford Focus front disc/drum rear and no booster. I'm running a mid''70s GM master cylinder with no booster and a '52-56 Ford pedal assembly on my truck. The MC doesn't know or care if it's being boosted by a vacuum booster or mechanical leverage from the pedal arm.

  12. '64.5-66 Mustangs had manual discs/drums with a single-pot master to boot. No 'proportioning valve' either....

    Most of the builds we did when I was in a shop were non power assist.
    Didn’t need it with the Willeood stuff

    70-72 Monte Carlos and some Chevelles of the same period.
    I do believe 1972 was the first year disk fronts were standard on the C 10/Cheyanne

    No, it’s bolted on with the factory bolt holes and sandwiched with the pedal assembly.
    The car had the full booster, bracket and distribution valve when I got it. Too much crap and no benefit.

    What is your intended application? Pops had a '70 F body manual brakes disc/drum. Used to think it was odd, after reading this thread I guess not.

    In addition to the already mentioned 65-66 Mustang and late Maverick, add the Pinto.

    I had a 1975 Chevy Monza that had manual disc drum brakes. That little bugger could stop on the dime!! The modulation was better... Now I see why my dad hated power brakes and steering.. He didn't like power steering because the steering wheel didn't bounce back after a turn.. He used to say any of his 1930s-40s-50s Fords handled a thousand times better then the new at the time 60s cars. After seeing the alignment settings I see why.

    Most vehicles had "single pot' masters until the dual system was mandated in '67, and '65-'66 disc/drum Mustangs did use a K/H adjustable proportioning valve, similar to what disc/drum T-Birds and Lincolns also used during that time.

    In my ‘57 Chevy PU. Seems like this axle I have uses the early 2nd gen FBody discs as well.
     
  29. Chevy s10 and ford rangers until early 90’s could be had with manual brakes on the bare bones models.
    I know not hamb friendly, but gives you ideas .

    When I worked at a Dodge dealership, I remember an early 80's Dodge D 100. Customer complained that the power brakes quit working. This was after his wife started driving the truck. I lifted the hood and found no booster. I told him the power brakes didn't work because it doesn't have power brakes. That made him mad since he knew it had power brakes. I couldn't convince him otherwise. He ended up trading down to a car for the wife.

    This truck was a disc/drum setup.
