    I've shown these pics before. Built this '40 pickup (37 passenger nose) back in the '90s. Despite the "drag race" look, it wasn't all that fast. :( 37a.jpg 37b.jpg 37c.jpg 37d.jpg

    Sure is J.C. Whitney!
    Built the surplus jeep and baja bug in my head lots of times reading through it.
    Hood ornaments had a similar page.

    I don't recall ever seeing a teardrop bubble hood on a tri five Chevy and 2 show up on this thread, I'm surprised it's not seen more often, they look great on these two cars. HRP

    Its not a scoop but its not merely flat steel either. Perhaps a popped blister? The Stromberg oculus in my roadster.
