What transmission mount have you guys used when installing a T5 in a 56 ford car? I bought a Mustang mount that bolts to the trans, but in order to use it I'll have to drop the cross member and redrill the frame to lower it. Is there a better way?

Don't know how much the difference is between 56 & 57 but I used a Mustang mount in my 57. I only needed a hair more clearance in mine to make it fit better so I just cut the mount lengthwise and rewelded it. Only took out about a 1/2 inch but it was all I needed.

I have no idea how much continuity there is on the mounting hole pattern from one Ford ******/or vintage to another, but on my 4R70W (aode would be the same) I used a ****** mount for a Crown Vic. No mods whatsoever were needed.

This is who you should ask as he has the T5 in his '54 the 52-56 cars share the same factory transmission cross member he probably has several pictures of it too. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/conversations/add?to=HOTRODPRIMER
