Thanks for the kind words on the roadster. The name change was due to some misunderstandings locally, and some back lash I received. I assumed it was obvious I do this for fun, an escape out in my shed building my dream car. Whether it be jealousy or misinterpretation I am not sure, but drylake"speedshop" upset a few people. Due to the circumstances I was allowed to have my user name changed.

Thank you, much appreciated. I'll keep on having fun with what I'm doing with the roadster and have found H.A.M.B a fantastic way to document and draw encouragement and inspiration for my build. I am very thankful to have been allowed to have the name changed to circumvent some further problems and negative opinions, also understanding it's impossible to please everyone. Although work on the roadster is on pause for home renovations, I have had the chance to pick up a few good deals. One thing I really like the idea of is having extra sets of headlights, wheels, and steering wheels to change the look of the roadster with a few bolt on items. I think this is part of the beauty of these early Ford's. I managed to score a 1949-50 single spinner steering wheel and have been collecting old Stewart Warner gauges to fill the roadster dash. As much as I like the new SW gauges I bought, they look out place with all the other early parts and panels I think. I have only been to one swap meet in what seems a bloody long time because of covid, it's nice to drag a few bargains home.
I hear you there, I have a "Karen" next door that told our local zoning guy I was running an illegal auto repair shop and cutting up cars in my driveway. Zoning guy came out and checked out my truck, then went next door to tell the woman that hobbies are not repair shops and that the wrecked unregistered car in her driveway had to go.
I’d have left your name the same , you do nice work and find cool stuff ,I sold you the blower and Qc and have followed your builds and finds since,,keep up the good work and go and find me a repairable 34 chassis,,I’ve copped flack in the past from Aussie rodders due to my cheats on finding tin from the air...you obviously do the miles and the hard yards...sometimes the cool police just don’t understand what cool really is....keep doin what your doin and never back down...

Since he was called '...Speedshop' he probably had people contacting him thinking he actually had a speedshop. That can lead to A. him getting tired of fielding calls and B. people being pissed off when they find out he's not a speedshop after all.
It’s an avatar,,,, not an advertisement with a phone number or website attached mines bowling ball , Idont often have people trying to stick fingers in tha back of my head or make bookings for 4 people for 2 games each although I’d reckon there’s plenty that would like to!

New offy intake for the roadster, and the start of the polish. I have been picking up old gauges and accessories for the roadster as I come across them.
Happy birthday to me, ha ha! More old junk for the shed... 1936 Royal Enfield side valve engine and it looks cool on display next to the roadster . I was after an early bike motor for a "one day" project and the price was right, and it's my birthday so I had to have it .

Mucking around with ideas for hood sides, and this one has stuck. Some small mods to get it right but I like the "going fast standing still" look. I don't recommend the beer in the photo but I like the can, ha ha. I plan to run Lakes headers out the openings of the lower hood sections for some dirt track events we have going on over here in Aus. I may make some louvered inserts as well for the road. I like the idea of using traditional parts to make something cool, but different.
Admittedly I have done very little other than gather a couple of parts and mock some stuff up for fun. I did manage to run my spark plug leads last weekend, and fit an original crusty radiator cap to the roadster.
yeh, '35 pick up hood sides... i think your's look better. i run SBF's the 289 flags badge fits perfectly in the center dip in the louvers...
I have a cardboard mock up of how I plan to run the hood sides. I will be changing the lower radius opening and swage, once I get the time away from home renovations... Thanks for sharing your photo.
I sure did, It's a bit too easy to drink that spiced rum hahahaha! When common sense gets in the way of an enjoyable drink. With the fire, rum and work on the old car it was a fun day for sure!
