Wow! That is cool. I have always heard more negativity towards 58’s but I’d take this one in a heart beat! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
One thing I like on the 58's that the 57's do not have are the ribs on the roof. Kind of a neat feature.
Wow! Does anyone happen to have any other pictures of this one?? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
So I did a post on Randy Spohn's beautiful 58 Custom with a video where it ran 8.77 @147, very well built and extremely popular car, and the post got 4 likes just before this- really? It's a 58, with an FE engine Your post in the thread The 57-59 Ford was deleted. Reason: this is a traditional forum, modern style builds are not allowed
Gene.. the car is beautiful, but tubbed and running centrelines. therefore breaks the rules on this forum. Jeff
1958 Impala two brothers Hello, When we were getting used to cruising around in our fairly new 58 Chevy Impala, our neighbor down the street always stopped by to check out the Impala when it was sitting in our gr***y/concrete driveway. In the fall of 1958, one day he stopped by with his new 1959 black Ford sedan with a white top. He was very proud of his new car. Jnaki This was in front of our last house in the Westside of Long Beach. It was a cl***ic post war tract home with concrete driveways and gr*** growing down the middle of the driveway, from the sidewalk to the garage pad. We were anxious about the upcoming wedding, so we did not notice our friend speeding by in his new 1959 Ford Sedan. Previous post: Hello, When my brother and I were off to a friend's wedding, we were going to go in a mini caravan with our cousin's 1956 Chevy Bel Air 4 door hardtop. We hated wearing suits, but it was a wedding for a close friend. So, on with the suits and off we go... It was 1959, my brother's idea of a good looking Impala was to pop off the stock hubcaps and make it look like we just came from nearby Lions Dragstrip. Which we did the day before on a Saturday. School on Friday, drags on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday... teenage life in 1959. Then, our local neighbor rolls by in his new 1959 Ford Sedan. What an action film from those early days of Fords and Chevy cars. Jnaki I cannot remember, but it looks like the two Chevy sedans with occupants, had no inkling a new 1959 Ford rolled by our house.
For hot rod guys whether Ford or Chevy I think 57 is going to be the preferred. Now custom guys may have another thought. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Chevrolet's are different as they all look good. to me, the 57 Ford is way more cool than the other 2 Fords, and is actually a rival for coolness the the tri five Chevrolet's while the 58-59's kind of missed the mark.
This is my 59 Custom 300. Currently getting clipped and a motor/trans/rear end swap. Hope to have it back running by next month.
What do you mean "clipped" ? If the answer is not H.A.M.B. friendly please send me the answer via P.M.
