    Real Nice Hotrod indeed...

Interesting too is the mix of Rims...

That Ole Pickup looks mighty nice in the background there as well...

A guy I knew in the early '60s had a '36 about that low. Part of his trick was to remove the springs and U-bolt both axles to the frame. He didn't drive it much.

You highlight a modeling option that happened in many a dimly lit shop with as you allude the forthcoming lowering blocks...I sometimes am unsure of digital authenticity of images but I've always enjoyed the look of that modded or not...so many things in Custom cross the Hotrod spectrum...I guess many methods were tried with solid mount notifying builder a C-notch or Z or......is part of the deal...

Not mine but a friends shortened 31 Ford roadster body sitting on a 1937 Willy frame running a Latham supercharged Pontiac flathead straight 8 with an upgraded 37 Willys tranny, , and 201 QC rear end. (See Post 5691)

1928 Essex Super Six, built 2003-2008. Four doos six light bodystyle made two door coach, by shortening the body 8" and welding rear doors shut. Chopped 2", angle channelled 2" in the rear, 5" in the front.Original front axle with '68 Satellite 11" brake drums. Seventies Volare 7-1/4" rear end. Rover 3500 engine with Buick 215 valve covers, Offenhauser intake and a Holley390, air cleaner made from two 1938 Chrysler head light buckets. Tank in the front contains the battery. Simple and loads of fun.

You're right about that, Stogy. This car was built to run at Muroc back in the mid 40's. It was called "The Lil Singer Sewing Machine" at that time it was painted white. It had the Willys flathead four cylinder with an aluminum Hickey head running a Graham supercharger. It was around 1946-48 that it held the record in it's class at Muroc at 125 MPH and change. Back in the 70's that car was restored and then it just sat. It was advertised in the back of Hot Rod magazine in the late 70's where my buddy Mel saw the ad and drove down to LA and bought the car. I've talked about the car on here before and some of the older guys on here remember the car. I think one guy said he had a magazine or saw it in an old Hot Rod magazine. Mel has all the original parts to put it back the way it was but I think he did a really fantastic job on "upgrading" it.

Do you have any pics of it at Muroc Brandon?...it certainly must have captured the Eyes of Photographers with that kind of record making...that steering wheel is Aviation sourced and not uncommon with wartime hardware nearly being given away...You certainly have shared enough to do some serious searching...It looks familiar to me...perhaps I've seen your previous sharing of this survivor...

@Stogy I believe it's been in a few magazines. I know I've seen it. Can't recall exactly where, but if I come across it Ill let you know.
