Now that is how you bob a frame. Not sure about the dust blowers sticking through the roll pan but I always like looking at photos of that car.

This is what I am trying to avoid. Just lopping off the frame and boxing it. Perhaps it is best but this is one of the reasons I started this thread. Thanks.

Not sure I have ever seen a brass ball valve used as a fuel shutoff before.

This is the correct way to bob off a 34 frame. So it is what I am doing to mine now. Not easy, but correct. Thanks for the suggestion.

So after the comments posted here (not so much @hotrodA ,thank you very much tho) I had the Wizzard (aka @Pist-n-Broke )over Sunday and we decided on a course of action. Drop the rear running gear, lob off the frame rails and rebuild basically everything!
So, I dropped the rear end.

Next up is to remove the shock crossmember tube, the body spacer blocks (taped in the pic) and then the rear frame rails from the apex in the C notch rearward. The plan is to strip the boxing plates, shorten the rails and weld them back on. The shocks are to be hung from brackets on the frame rails freeing up the center of the car for easy exhaust plumbing. A little repainting will be required.
When done the frame rails will be parallel to the body in the back and just long enough to bolt the spreader bar back on as a rear bumper and support the number plate.

This is a lot of work on a finished car but I have the plan down. Shiny stuff out of the way, time to get fabricating.
