i recently went out into the desert country on a rescue mission

turned out to be a 13 hour round trip

now that i have it home,i just have to workout what i am going to do with it......
this is what we call a 58/59 star model mainline (ute) over here from 55 to 59 were basically the same car with yearly upgrades and mainline was the name for the utility model.....as you can see it is pretty ruff but because of it's rarity it is worth the effort to repair it which which shouldn't be too hard.

at the same time i picked this up i managed to grab this firewall out of another carc*** that was beyond help....this i have put thru my citric tank and am getting rid of the rust,as my tank is small i have to put my long pieces in end over end and do them in 2 stages but the end result is still the same.....

the same firewall just have to do the other end

this is my derusting factory just one of those cube things with the top cut out....works for me.
the mainline i will collect panels over time and make it a complete car again...i have already organised a front clip for it,but for now it will go on the back burner till it has it's day in the sun.
you might be wondering wtf with the firewall.....well i will repair it and bring it up to the primer stage and it will go with the right hand drive dash and various other bits for my vicky......although i have no intention of converting my vicky to right hand drive i am collecting all the bits to convert it from lhd so that when and if i decide to sell it,it will be an easy conversion for someone as not everybody is happy driving a left hook car

Good find. Is that a flathead powered trike in front of it?

Joe, There have been several folks over here that built bikes using the small V8 60 flathead. I thought someone might have done the same down under.

james after building that garden art i got fired up to build a road going flat powered trike ....had it all worked how i was gonna do it,then looked into the legal side of it....a ream of papers an inch thick and the kicker at the end of it said,
after satisfying this criteria you are not guaranteed registration.....killed it right off for me
