Gonna paint it black.
Thinking about adding a chrome top. the circular bead at the top is 12 inches. A 12 inch chrome lid might look cool

People keep asking me if it’s from a Buick

 

No uglier than those Stage "27" Buick air cleaners with the dual snorkels that are fed from the hood louvers. At least you're trying something different on that Caddy engine. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Ugly, I think not. Get some paint on it and it will look great. As mentioned, the HEI is killing it for me.

 

Ugly is in the eye of the beer holder.

 

I don't care either....but it isn't ugly....just very creative COOL I'd paint it some unusual color like Packard Grey Engine paint, with some striping.....

All black this time. Almost went Detroit green
This is a mule. Gets the crap driven out of it. The black makes easy touch up.

 

I picked up a 68 472. Thought it was a points distributor. It’s electronic but not a pertronix or similar conversion.
May install it after I get it all going.

 

Has a SUPERHERO-ish look to it.
Maybe cut a pair of openings in the front? With some chrome screen?

My fab work isn’t chrome worthy

 

A little cleaning up with some finer grit soft pads and that thing will shine like a diamond in a goat's ass. It needs chrome

 

It sorta has that Hurst/Olds or 442 Cutlass flavor to it....

 

Now it's coming to me.......it's a George Barris thing! The top looks like a sub-woofer speaker. Paint it matte black with little yellow lightning bolts radiating from the center 'dust cover', like a blaring speaker animation. That would be hip

We probably want have time to body work and paint it by Wednesday.
So we’ll probably just sand it as slick as we can for now.

 

I think A+ for creativity and inspiration. I agree needs some chrome screen on the intakes.
