A summary of our Route 66 trip! One dad and four smelly boys on the road for 7 days an 1 hr! Left Bakersfield on a Tuesday evening With a trailer headed to pick up an OT 69 Dodge Coronet big block convertible in Cleveland Georgia! We ate lots of southern bbq, took a couple hour detour to drop of 2 33-34 Ford axles at Joe’s Speed Shop in Oklahoma (no pictures of that but Joe and his family gave us a great tour of the shop plus we got to hear some wonderful hot Rod stories!). Spent some time at Cooter’s Dukes of Hazard museum in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, we then also found out PF was having their Rod Run, 2 Route 66 car museums, new non California friendly knives at World’s Largest Knife Store in Tennessee for everyone, and one Bass Pro Shop in Oklahoma City (more knives), repaired trailer brakes in Southern TN and changed a tire in an Arkansas Bayou! Some Good Stuff for Sure! Now that was a long trip! These are from the Family owned museum in Santa Rosa NM. Really nice people and well worth the visit. P.s. My disclaimer. I am not a photographer but I attempted to get ever H.A.M.B. friendly car I could on the trip. If there is an OT car in the background I really tried to minimize it in the picture. Think of this as more as advertising for these places. They only survive because car guys exists! Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Man...wish I would have known you were making a trip like that. Would have tried to catch up with you somewhere. Looks like it was fun!
Definitely next time man! It was kind of last minute which made it crazy to plan but fun. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Some of our Pigeon Forge Rod Run pictures. It took what I could. Lots of great cars that would be perfect for the H.A.M.B. but the southern guys love there big billet wheels on stock looming cars. Lol Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That sounds like a great trip and one those boys (and you) will talk about for the rest of their lives.
A real 150 utility sedan. No back seat, no roll up rear windows, no stainless around windows. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
