  3. Well I'm certainly glad I caught the post about your 10 year anniversary on the H.A.M.B. I might have missed this thread otherwise.
Great start so far, and an Olds powered hotrod is right up my alley!
Timing actually couldn't be better. I picked up a 32 chassis last weekend with plans to drop a 29 A on it and a 303 Olds between the rails. I'm also planning unboxed and unsplit wishbone, so I'll be eager to see how you tackle things.
Are you planning on using a Lincoln yoke to give you some additional wishbone width?

  7. As @Dedsoto referenced, the yokes from Lincoln wishbones were wider. I've seen guys graft those wishbone yokes onto Ford wishbones to widen the spacing of the wishbone and provide additional room for a V8 oil pan.
Obviously that's not the direction you are headed here, so I'll sit back and watch the progress to see how you make things work :)

Thanks to both of you, for the info. Let's see how things fit, with the Olds nestled into the engine compartment.

As always, I like to include other projects I am working on. I have a friend (part of our Bonneville Team) that is building a Blown Flathead Street Roadster, and plans on running it this fall. Since he is one of Jim's very best friends, we decided to get my part of the car done, before proceeding on the '29. I built the rest of the roll cage a while back, and now am completing the cage, along with a cockpit cover and a hood, should be done in a week or so. Here are some shots from the weekend, good times with old friends ! Bob Lick party 1.jpg IMG_6958.JPG IMG_7038.JPG IMG_6988.JPG IMG_6990.JPG

I caught up with an old friend that is re-creating Hurst Mounts for Olds to early Ford, and traded him out of a set. Lately I have been getting some PMs about these, if anyone is interested, contact me, and I will forward his info. IMG_7044.JPG IMG_7045.JPG IMG_7046.JPG

I used Hurst mounts when I put the Olds in my '38 coupe in 1962. With the trans adapter it just bolted in. I wish I had that stick flywheel. :D

While we were partying away, in a spray booth in Portland, Duane Olofson was working his magic, on my '40 Pickup, starting with the cab. The rest will be done in coming weeks. Assembly will have to wait until this Winter, when I will have the space and time to do it. image2.jpeg image3.jpeg image6.jpeg image4.jpeg

Tom, I never started a build thread, just showed piece-meal aspects, as I went along. Here are a few shots of some of the hand built parts. 327-3 speed on the column, narrowed (one side) 65 Ford pickup, 9" rear. IMG_3536.JPG IMG_3588.JPG IMG_1925.JPG IMG_4395.JPG IMG_4363.JPG

Sweet! Here's a couple of shots of the '41 I grew up with. I "helped" my dad repaint it when I was 8 or 9. While sanding the back of the cab I found lots of little dents in the back of the cab. Dad told me it had something to do with my Uncle Punk (on the bicycle) & my Uncle Blake (on the tractor) and a pickup load of someone else's water melons. Later Uncle Blake made a trailer out of it and the rebuilt engine went in my brother's '39 coupe

Dang it Marty! Every time I check one of your projects I get even closer to selling everything and taking up a new hobby. Maybe spoon collecting... can't even come close with cleavers, so no sense trying!

I have been working on the Bonneville Roadster, got the cage fit and tacked together, now for a 3 piece hood. Picking up the cab and box for the '40, at the paint shop tomorrow, can't wait to see it in the sun ! IMG_7078.JPG IMG_7080.JPG IMG_7084.JPG

If a roll cage can be sexy that one gets my vote!
Hey Marty, those rear frame horns are hard on the shins huh.
