Event Coverage Is anyone here up to the challenge of figuring out what this rear clip belongs to?

A friend of mine found this rear clip from some kind of car out in the woods and hauled it home and he asked me if I could figure out what it was from.
It appears to be a higher end car from the early 30’s and was either a convertible or it at at least didn’t have a metal roof. The door hinge is on the back side of the door opening so the doors were “suicide”. Also there was a golf club type door on the p***enger side supporting my theory that it’s a higher end car than a Ford or a Chevy. I don’t have anything else besides what is pictured. IMG_1928.JPG The old thing isn’t good for much so I’m just trying to identify it for fun. Let’s see if anyone is up for the challenge. IMG_1929.JPG

Looks pretty savable to me. It's got a golf club door on the p***. side so probably not a Dodge.:D

If not a Dodge maybe it's a Chrysler!

Try Buick. They had cars with golf club doors.

And we have a winner! I didn’t know if we would ever know what that rear clip was from but looking at the picture you provided, I agree that it must be a 32 Studebaker. So how did you know?

This piece would be useful for rebodying a sedan into a roadster, it's definitely not junk. I'm impressed the trunk gutters are still in it.

For you Dodge doubters, '29 Dodge DA Roadsters did indeed have a golf bag door. Friend has a restored one.

  17. B.B. I know a guy that could graph that into your Roadster quarter. We know you can match the paint now.

I've owned a 32 Studebaker 3 Window for over 50 years (that was weird to type)

The one remaining vertical support and the thread plate for the latch in the center of the top gutter tells me it was Rumble seat Roadster. Now where is the rest of it?

@Pist-n-Broke Betcha' it's beautiful. I love 'em. 1932 Hudson is another obscure, & gorgeous model.

Please post pictures of yours. "Research purposes" & thread continuation for future references.

What a shame it wasn't kept with the rest of the car in a shed. President series Studebaker's from the 30's are usually big $$$$$$'s

  21. Beauty is subject to ones point of view. Mine is just Hot Rod. Nothing there that would tell ya it's a Studebaker unless you know Studebakers. When the curious ask what it is I've always said "Don't ya know a Hot Rod when you see one"? I've never been real chatty.
