  1. Thanks Steve, it’s not the Coleman Coupe for sure. I am trying to get used to fenders and no chop. [emoji102]

  5. Do you have a favorite of the whole bunch?? From NASHRODMAN

I missed this post from months back. I guess there are a few that I would like to own again. My current Deuce Roadster would be on top of the list! Sorry for the late response [emoji44]

  6. Getting down to the nitty/gritty. Went over the 97's yesterday! They were set very lean. I will give it a test drive today. I hope that was my issue.
Changed out my fuel pressure gauge with this United one. I have the same one on my roadster and found another for the coupe. Very cool gauge, I think. Some times it is the little things:cool: Took an outside night garage picture last night.:) IMG_7840.JPG IMG_7841.JPG IMG_7843.JPG IMG_7842.JPG

That is a neat gauge. Is it an NOS old gauge, or something you can still buy new? If yes, can you tell me where?

  13. Have been waiting for new ignition wires and looms. I have already changed sparkplugs for Champions to Autolite.
I have never had issues with A/C's in Chevy's or Autolite's in Fords. I have however had many issues with Champion sparkplugs , but that talk for another day!
Started changing out the looms and wires yesterday. Will post some photos (not too exciting) Here is what I am changing from. Cheepo wires leaking. IMG_7669.JPG

  14. Changed out the ignition wires and looms. It was a bit of a challenge to keep the wires away from fan belt and water pump pulleys . ended up making a bracket off of generator mount. Hard to see, but it did help. IMG_7861.JPG IMG_7858.JPG IMG_7859.JPG
Finally stopped raining here, so I will give it a test run today and see if the wires made a difference.

The older I get the more I like the stock look, but the changes under are always needed.

They look nice but have you watched them with the engine running? I worry that they may get pushed back and then forward by the air from the fan and or radiator MAYBE causing them to loosen up at the plug tops.

  17. Something I alway check. I drove the coupe earlier today. It is running the best but not perfect. I am suspect of the gas. It was in the car for over five years. I have put a few gallons in it . At this point I will start driving it and see what happens. It certainly is good enough to use right now. I’m just getting picky.

  18. Had an interesting thing happen the other morning. Walked into the garage to find both front tires flat on the coupe. Had it out the night before for a road test. So I removed the wheels and checked both tires leaking from the tubes. It seems the tire shop that I use used the same size tubes for both front and rear tires. Tubes were for 700/750- 16’s. I am running 550 x 16’s on the front. Having read problems when doing this on the H.A.M.B. . I knew what happened. The shop could not find the smaller tubes so the used the larger ones. If you are wondering why I did not just buy Coker tubes when purchasing the tires, simple the tubes I have purchased from Coker in the past were very thin and did not last very long. I did find the 550 tubes ( not tractor)online. I know this is long not too interesting story, but it may help someone down the road. That is what the H.A.M.B. is all about . I will let you know the outcome. There may be more to this story but I need to wait and see.[emoji102]

  22. He is the new owner and son in law of previous owner who retired. So not all that familiar with tubes. Previous owner was the best at all things tires. Anyway he wants to make things right. [emoji41]

  23. These are 35 Ford spoke wheels so they are smooth on the inside and do not require flaps.
When they removed the tires and tubes the tubes were creased and rubbing upon itself causing the leak where it was worn.
I read this in another post on this site stating exactly what would happen. I did not realize he used the too large tubes in the front until I went back and looked at the receipt showing four of the same tubes.

To me "flaps" are heavy rubber used on Model T's and cars of that era. Model A and all Ford wire wheels up to 1935 had the large rubber bands that fit down in the wheel to cover the spoke spot welds. Two wraps of trimmed to width Duct Tape works just as well.

Sorry, forgot that you were using 35 wires as I was thinking of what was done for my K-H bent spoke wires. But what happened in your case is understandable as there is just too much tube to fit in that small tire.

  27. Finally took the coupe to a car cruise tonight in New Milford CT.
Still not running the best and I am going to change the master cylinder from GM style to an Early Ford type. Just not happy with the brakes at this point.
Anyway here are some photos from tonight! IMG_7941.JPG

Mark, The Coupe looks great, it has its own look. Lots of stock stuff but I can ID it.
