I just picked up this 1934 Ford 5 window down in Connecticut, but the seller had no information to share. Hoping maybe someone recognizes it?

Has a Pontiac 389, 4 speed, Pontiac rear end. Heavy channel, orange metal flake paint, filled vent, and funky rear end re-styling.

    ***** CHRISTMAS 2021 UPDATE *****

Sent the seller a message with some pictures of the car as it is now, and asked if he might remember who built it…. Guess he was in the spirit of giving this time.

It looks like the coupe was built by Tom Staback of Southington Connecticut. He owned Tom’s Mobil back in the day, and later Tom’s Auto Service and Sales, also in Southington. Currently trying to reach out to friends and family of his, as he unfortunately passed away a month after I acquired the coupe.

Does anyone remember this coupe around the Southington area?? I was told it was driven very little, and sat under a tarp next to his house for years.

Just going to put an update here, to save scrolling through 10 pages!

A little over two years later, it made its first passes down the drags at Northeast Vintage Drags up at New Oxford Speedway in Maine!

With just a little restyling, that will be killer! Show some pics of the inside.

GTO...Hotrod Style!!...that's 2 for you Shaun...it has a little road rash but what a cool Capsule to revive...I suspect it has a vintage story coming to a halt sometime in the 60s by the look of it, we just have to do some snooping...congratulations...

    Thanks guys.

Plan right now is to just get it running and driving, fix the rust this winter. Motor turns over, looks clean inside.

Notice the small block Chevy headers that were adapted?

The rear tires/wheels are just rollers. Had these 8 lug 14 inch Pontiac rims and tires on it. Need to find some tires like these!

I like the rad struts...purpose built...you might be surprised what it looked like in the early 60s...look at the wishbones quite the mod to accommodate the pipes...from Stockcars to 1/4 Mile...

Any evidence of a former roll bar in there? Those are pretty unusual headlights as well...

  21. Ahem...well. I'd love to get my grubby hands on that! Love the east coast style build with the channel, tall top, spring in front etc etc. I'd have to make it nice with smooth bodywork, fresh paint, new Radars etc.
