Under stand pre 65 , the only reason NO big tires was there where No big tires!!
But I have seen pics of Dooley rear tires on Ts,, Most Focus on what they seen in HR & Hop Up mags, they did not venture out side of SoCal until mid to late 50s , there was So much H-R & race
Ideals that No one new of unless you happen to know a person or seen it (now in old pics ) that are shared .
There where small towns all across USA, people did not know really what was going on 30 miles away in another small town , even to this day , NOT every one post what they see or do ,
I grew up 40 miles from big white house , Manassas ,A small town until mid 90s , Hot Rods race cars Customs Bikes since 1948 . ODSW first raced on @ a family get to get together acting like hoodlums having fun on a family farm , then a few years later Old Dominion Speedway established 1951 on the East Coast & was the oldest on the East Coast , closed now 2014 or so ,original owners were the Gores. I do not know of magazine coverage,
    ( Drag Racing)
Except in stock car magazines, 3/8 mile track but hear it was like American Graffiti , I was shock just in last 10 years that Hot Rods where not the norm all places especially Northern states On East , & Another dragstrip not well known but old , Summer duck Virginia originally the property was bought by few car club guys in late 50s to hang out play with there rides and made a dragstrip, then was sold in early 60s to the Curtis family, now sold to a new owner in last few years.
My point is More was going on then what was seen in Mags

I finished mine a little over a year ago, and I did it for right around $6000. I bought a 1979 Chevy Malibu for $600 and used the engine, transmission, and rear end. I used an absolute minimum of store bought parts. I spent a lot of hours in the garage cutting and grinding, I made all my own brackets, frame, suspension parts, etc. I shortened my own driveshaft. I didn’t farm out any of the work. I used plenty of swap meet parts wherever possible. The front axle, spindles, and brakes are from a 1965 Chevy van. I built my own steering column, windshield frame, seat, shifter, etc. Some parts of it are a little crude, but it’s still a work in progress. I can’t imagine having more fun per dollar. It drives very well, is reasonably comfortable, and has been almost 100% reliable. To stay in that price range you have to go very cheap on the paint, interior, and wheels and tires. I bought new tires, but they came from Walmart, not Coker,

Not to many T I like , my taste is pre 60s , but I would like to build one like this , ( was a fellow HAMBer deceased I think) with Hilborn or Enderle injected with 32 headlights or 33 commercial.
This to me would be like driving my Blown Alky altered (A/FC) On the street , witch I did "One time "when A guy tried to Punk me , it was a ""Expensive "" out of my pocket & a Dum A$$ prove my point in his face , I kicked all the Rods out @ 9,800 RPMs E7827011-9524-4339-BFC2-E8BB398C6DC0.jpeg FAF15090-B208-43E2-AD5D-180A9944D850.jpeg

Does anybody remember the Car Craft magazine 10-month series in the late '60s of plans on how to build a T-bucket? I do.
    And did.

I wonder what happened to all those T buckets we use to see at rod runs in the 70's?

  26. Only hot rods I've ever built. For my first one I used a rusted out but running 58 chev. Used every part of that car that I could, including the vin/title. Was racing Sprints at the time and it was the closet thing I could put on the street with the same power to weight ratio. Never had a fitment problem because every one I built was single seat, center steer with dropped foot boxes and automatics. It got so I could whip up a frame in an afternoon, and if the parts were on my shelves, it'd be a roller the next day. Used to buy my bodies from that place that ran those full page ads in the back of HOT ROD and go pick them up in Minn, then switched to Unlimited. Only hot rod you can build where the only limitation is your own imagination. Last one I built had a blown BBC, zoomies, Hoosiers on the rear, twelve spokes on the front, shorty prepped glide and a QC. Totally impractical, but totally fun. Now days I'm hoping my Easy Eagle will be just as much fun, if and when, I get it done.

Nice Hot Rod BUT are these studs or lug nuts?

If they are lugnuts then your studs are too short.
