...I asked if anyone knew of the Hotrod in the background of the pic in the post being replied too and I think it might be this Radical High Speed Flaming Wedge of a Crosley sharing the Limelight with @Austinrods Hotrod in 1956 an a Show and a Magazine...

I agree but it may even be 50s, its interesting, is it the pitman arm is somewhat narrow towards the box...lightening things up gets you there quicker...probably spliced to lengthen it...non ford on the body and that is quite the chassis as the workmanship looks pretty good from my amateur observation...

  5. Zoomed in on the pics. Looks like it’s set up for a front motor mount and a bell housing with mounts.
Early drag link but a heim joint on the hairpins
    V8 60 front axle?
    Split bones in the rear.
The other pics in the ad didn’t reveal what rear end.

It's difficult sometimes as things transition over the years and I'm just thinking of Dick Williams Roadster with a Tube Frame and that was late 40s...mind you it was a street
based roadster...You just never know what's in the history of these old relics...alot of those roaring roadsters had Tube Frames...

@Stogy We still don't know who built it but thanks to @Joe Blow we do know it was in the '57 Hot Rod annual.

   ...this deserves a cloning...

It is still around owned by a Hamber and like many vintage Hotrods found past their glory days many were repurposed as desired by those that acquired them many not aware of former liveries or not focused on ressurections...hence my analogy of cloning ×1...;)

I really like the subtle detailing such as the Flames aft of the Louvers and the area on the side hood panels where the Hemi is poking through...there is another 34 that shared a similar treatment and that was the Cycle fendered Coupe that was featured in Life of Riley...

...I found some images of this stunning Crosley Drag Coupe with this blurb accompanying it however I'm not sure Lloyd Krant has relevance to it but he may...the pics are awesome...

Treasure trove in here......can't get the pics to copy. Looks like the car was a Hayward Headhunters club car.
https://dragstriplist.com/ca This page doesn't want to load real quick....give it a minute.
Pics are approx. half way down the page.

Here's the caption on this pic.

Hayward Head Hunter members Charlie Booth and Bob Rosen set a record at Kingdon in 1954 in this C Altered. Courtesy of Don Jensen

A pic of the 56 Oakland Roadster Show with caption: (car in the upper right of the pic)

"This photo shows some of the sixteen cars entered by the Hayward Head Hunters in their club display at the 1956 Oakland Roadster Show. Courtesy of Don Jensen"

And finally a pic of a newspaper clipping with this description:

    Lions Drag Strip, 1956
    • The May 5, 1956 race at Lions drag strip was the last race my father ever competed in. The interesting thing is that my father's motorcycle was a 1943 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead motor with a 1930 VL frame with Triumph forks. I guess who ever write the newspaper clip only noticed the forks, therefore the mistake.

Oh yes, the good old bumper jack!! But at least the bumper jack gives you time to get out of there, the others just fail and BAM, on the ground!

Took me a minute to figure out what you were referencing as the 525 Coupe and perhaps this Driver was killed in an accident but not via a bumper Jack...yeah they were something weren't they...not much time when they topple over though...
