Hello all, I just signed up, but I have used this website to solve many mysteries in the past. So I wanted to start by saying thank you. I have a 52 chevy styleline 4 dr that I just had to switch out the original 235 and pg for a 53 235 and pg. The differences are slight but many. The issue I just realized was the kick-down link and bellcranks setup for 52 is very simple, and the 53 has 2 bellcranks and multiple rods to make for a smoother pedal. I want to know if there is a way to run the pg without the kick-down link attached and the pg run as needed; the 52 pg has the manual shift from low to high. So it would be as if the pg doesn't even have a kick-down, right? The 235 has a small amount of power. This car is a daily driver and used at speeds up to 60 for about 50 miles for long drives. Will the pg start to deteriorate if I leave the link off? or will there be no issues? Please help me
