Thanks guys! I have more updates from the job front that I'll break into in the next couple of weeks.

So, let's talk about the car. IMG_6006-1.jpg
Just for fun, I picked up a 12V to 6V voltage reducer to try with the horn. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. At $12, I figured why not? IMG_6014.jpg
I've also been driving the car almost every day. Yesterday, I took it out to Tommy's Joynt to work on my night driving and parallel parking skills. So much fun! (Yes, I know that the headlight bulbs are slightly different. I have a matching pair of Wagner sealed beams that I figure I'll install when one burns out.)

    Pretty cool Joey U.
Come on, fess up dude, did you try the buffalo stew at Tommy's Joynt yet? Have you been over to Swan oyster depot on Polk yet?
Just on those two classic establishments alone, you can write some cool stories of your experiences there!
Even better with your car pictured with those two cool places!
Your car looks great at Tommy's with the lights on!
    Perfection cannot be rushed!

Congratulations on the new magazine, looking forward to reading the article. The car looks great on the street at night! How can you leave it to go inside and eat? Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean someone won't screw with your car.

Thank you! Sometimes I'm surprised to see a Model A parked out on the street and I have to take a picture.

That's next time! That being said, I do have some oysters in my future. Remember that photo contest I mentioned a little while ago? Well I'm excited to say that I was one of the winners. The prize was a very generous gift certificate to Anchor Oyster Bar, which I'm very stoked to try. Looks like I have an oyster tour in my future!

Thank you! Let me know what you think! I'm working very hard not to be paranoid about it. I feel like once I get the top on there, I'll feel more comfortable with having it sitting out. Usually the places I park are fairly safe!

Oooh yeah. Also, I learned the "curb your wheels" lesson the hard way while living on Turk Street...

    A good idea!

Hell yeah. Tommy's is the spot.

    Yes!

Sunday Fun-day. Snagged this shot in my neighbors' driveway. SF is beautiful this time of year. Oh, and I'm a sucker for a good Bougainvillea. IMG_6081.jpg
For me, these projects are all about the small details. I've been looking for the perfect windshield decal for this car for like six months. After a whole lot of searching, I found one I really like. The 60-year-old decal was brittle, but I think it fits the theme of the build just fine.
    IMG_6082.jpg
Now there will be no mistaking where this machine came from. I love that the decal features the city, the Bay bridge and the Bay. As a matter of fact, that's the very bridge I hauled the chassis across last summer. IMG_3906.jpg
Time flies when you're having fun!

You won't say that when you're old enough to have old man skin and you have to prune one. You'll give enough blood for a small blood drive.

they say if you park it and walk away with out turning back to take another look you have the wrong vehicle haha.

I always remind myself of the 8 trillion motorcycles, Jeep’s with the doors off and convertibles with the top, well even if it was up, that people would want to walk away with before messing with some stinky old car.

I still pay a lot of attention to where I park though. Better an ounce of prevention and all

Wait until one of your "friends" crosses a couple of your plug wires and then hides with a camera, waiting for you to come back to the car!:D:eek:

Four "friends" left two of us in Clayton CA to walk home about 4 miles at night on Halloween. It was our junior year in high school. Almost a year later Ted & I left the other four at the Rheem Theater in Moraga about 15 miles from home. It was the 60s and no cell phones. Friendship is a funny thing. Out of that group Ted and I are the only two left. He who laughs last............:(

Some of my "FRIENDS"seem to think it is funny! You wouldn't believe how hard it is to remember the firing order when you you restart your car and suddenly it starts to run badly for no apparent reason, there is a crowd forming . Some of them ( who by the way know what is wrong) are making suggestions , like "time for a small block" and " sounds like a broken crankshaft , to me"..... I guess it is funny from their point of view.

They pay the price! It was a long time ago but this is the guy they all still come to for tuning, and other maintenance on their older cars.

The first time we fired my son's '54 Stude Wagon we reversed the plug wires. It uses the same cap as a '55 Chevy but the distributer rotates in the opposite direction. It was doing fine on #1.

Hah, I almost did that to myself when I was first getting the car going. I mistakenly wired it as 1234 rather than 1243. Good thing I never fired it like that!

@Rocky, you hit the nail on the head. It's a car alright!

Quick update on the build: I'll be on the road for the next two weeks not working on the build. Nonetheless, I have some pretty major things planed that I'll hopefully be able to share next month.

Right before I left, I received a letter from my friend Joey Wagner in Missouri. After watching my Instagram Live and reading this thread, he decided to draw the car in his signature style. What an honor. He nailed the details, right down to the quail radiator cap. YOM plate and the baloney slicer stack. On top of that, he included a pair of '29 roadster sketches. So neat!
    IMG_6102.jpg
One thing's for sure—I need to find some worthy picture frames!

Speaking of the Show Me State, I'm currently in St. Louis hanging with the one and only @Nick32vic. Tomorrow I hit the road for Iowa, Indiana, Ohio and wherever else stories may be hiding. But more on that later. IMG_6117.jpg
What better way to celebrate summer in St. Louis than with Ted Drewes on Route 66?!

I would do that trip in your roadster at the drop of a hat! Summertime, USA, Route 66, who cares if a two week trip takes six weeks? Those stories wouldn't be hiding, you would be making them happen!
Just put the word out on the HAMB , and you are on your way , see what unfolds!
Just remember oil change and service every 500 miles...https://modelagarage.com/lubrication/
You must be getting close to that first (500 miles) oil change already Joey? :D
