My friend in high school had one in the early 60s. Not very old back then.

 

That's the funny thing, I've heard lots of stories about people having them in the 60's or even 70's (either in Ca. or close), but it's HARD to find one or parts. I'm going to sell both the '59s as I wanted a '57 and finally found one. Now I just need to find parts or another parts car .

It was in the SF Bay Area. Everyone laughed at him till stuffed the 283 in it. A guy I met later had a Morris Minor sedan delivery with a 500 Cadillac in the back. It was the whole clip with the wheels welded straight. That engine didn't even know it was hooked to anything. I wish I had kept my '61 Morris Minor Traveler.

Yeah, I looked after I asked the question, and saw they were Hillman's. Cool little cars.

 

I lied, I said it was a 65 to slip it in, it's a 70. LOL Lippy

 

Even though I am a Mopar guy...that's very, very close to "as good as it gets" for a wagon race car!!

 

Well, I joined the wagon family this week....here's my 63. That sounds so weird to say! I've been meaning to buy a "family car" for years and this all just kinda fell into place. Ran 12.80 in the quarter, Southern Colorado/New Mexico car so it's SOLID! Still has the red oxide primer from the factory on the underside! 9" posi rear, TCI frontend, built SB 400, Hooker headers, Caltrac, line lock, etc. The interior is super nice!

Brought it home last Saturday.....

 

Here’s my 60 Country Sedan and my 62 Ranch Wagon. The 60 is currently in the garage, just finished the new floors and rockers and got it back on the frame after re doing that too. Time to stab the 390/c6 in it. The 62 is the most base model car ever. The only option was a radio. 223/3 on the tree, heater delete, plain steel window trim. The only stainless is around the windshield and rear window

New daily.
Need do do some minor fixes but will relative stay as is. I drove it home from Denver to Los Angeles two weeks ago. It rides great.

This is my '51 Ford Country Squire. It has lived it's whole life in NY state, mostly in the desolate southern tier. The 2nd owner was a local kid who knew it's history as he grew up in the same town of Allegheny NY. He bought it off of the original owners as an older gent hoping to restore it one day. I bought it from him as health problems led him to assume it was time to sell. I did my best to refurbish rather than restore the old wagon. Lots of localized paint repair, blending and blurring the lines between old and new. Original wood framing with new body panels. Rebuilt correct 8ba flatty replacing the original 8ba. I like cars that can retain as much of their original soul as possible. Perfectly restored cars are great but not my style.

 

Always liked the Squire Wagon!
