we visited Glass Beach near Fort Bragg CA
same thing happened there between 1906 to 1967
beach was used as a dump by locals,cars .glass ,all rubbish went over cliff

 

Dan, I think your right. Pontiacs never had those holes above the pistons and there cyls weren't that small..

It's an Olds, ‘56 up. If that’s a steerable spindle on the end it could be an early Mopar front axle.
Years ago there used to stuff like that at the base of the Palos Verdes cliffs in SoCal too. I haven’t gone tide pooling as extensively as I used to as a kid to see if it’s still there. It looks like they cleaned it up though. Great pictures Ryan.

 

'75-'80 I worked in Dutch Harbor AK, there was a "beach" like that there with metal remains of scrap left after WWII, literally tons of iron and brass.

 

Extended block and what's left of the exhaust manifold kind of looks like an Oldsmobile to me.

 

I concur, a 303 I would guess, based on the flat pan Hydramatic.
all made of, although slightly over done, a nice flaky pastry dough, possibly filo?

 

Wondering if the beach surface is volcanic rock, or melted junk to get that texture.
Could have been whole cars that and the rest burnt / rusted away.

I suspect Hawaii is all a mixture of volcanic rock millions of years in the making...Ryan said it was burned off many times as they do with dumps even today...I was wondering if that may have aided in more rapid disintegration of the varied metals...Man is a dirty pig much more than the apes but there is a beauty even in our trashy ways as evidenced by the images shared...the toxins in that encrusted metal and components still dirty the waters but no doubt the worst was shed many moons ago...
