Frank Curtis was my father in laws good friend. His shop was across the street from each other in Glendale Ca. Little story on the Novi from back in the day. After ww-2 my father in law got out of the service and married into a racing family, the owner of the NOVI race team. Now the Novis were known for being very fast but in the beginning the engines always let go because of the incredible compression the engines ran. My father in law Chas. BUD Howseman worked under the car chief Jean Marcenac and came up with an engine that had NO head gasket, the head was cast into the block. End of Blown head gaskets and the Novi became a force to be dealt with with. Thats my Indy story from back in the day!
