That appears to be the original BIG BOY in Toluca Lake near the STUDIOS. My Father and his cars hung out there in the 50s, Myself and my cars a few years later! The birth of Hot Rodding began right here within 10 mile radious. If you were into cars it was all happening right there!

 

1958 Dodge Coronet convertible

In the throes of the early pandemic times, we finished one of our favorite streaming shows, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The show follows the trial and tribulations of the star, Rachel Brosnahan, as she goes through a transformation throughout the early time periods on the Eastcoast.

In one of the scenes, a bright red Plymouth Convertible takes the whole center stage. It is the sister to the Dodge Coronet Convertible. It just made the scenes real life to a convertible loving wife, sitting next to me “Ogling” and praising the red convertible during the scenes.

Rachel Brosnahan is Mrs. Maisel. She is the star and makes the show the best it can be. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a streaming series that spans quite a variation of locations and time periods. The old cars are just classic.

1957 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible… A nice cousin to the Dodge Coronet Convertible.
