OK........I've put my money where my mouth is and became an Alliance member. Well worth it IMHO! Apparently, we have close to 2000 members of this forum. Come on everyone...step up and make a difference!

I'm sure there are guys that only log on here sporadically. Can we make this thread a sticky so when they do, they can see that when they come back......we might not be here!

I have been a Alliance Member since day one, I realized early after doing several auctions to benefit the Hamb that Ryan was doing all this out of his pocket and when he announced the alliance I felt like I was helping keep the lights on in my own small way.

Besides, the alliance discount's have been great. HRP

Man, just read up on all this mess going on. Really hope the axe doesn't come down on this group. Such a wealth of information ac***ulated over time. My only go to forum for these Fords. Facebook versions of this group doesn't cut it.

I copied everything in the FAQs so it won't be lost and pasted it onto a Word program (57 pages). JeffB2 suggested that I contact hotrodders.com and see if they want us. I did but as a new member there I'm not allowed to PM yet. I'll keep trying.

When saving the FAQs using that particular program are you able to save the photo's ***ociated with the how to's? HRP

Yes, I saved the photos too. Since it such a big file, I don’t know where I'll be able to upload it.

I have a build thread for my '54 on www.killbillet.com. It's a mirror of my build thread here. I did it just in case a situation like this one arose. I've been over there since 2009. They just recently upgraded to a new platform, also. Yeah, it's a rat rod site but there are lots of normal builds too. The site use to thrive but since Covid, traffic has dropped off to a trickle. I haven't inquired yet but I'm sure they would welcome us with open arms! We could post under '50s rat rod cars'. I don't know how we'd transfer the sticky over but I'll bet the-stig does! BTW, over there I'm 2.3Turbo_T. Just a thought.

I sent a PM to poncho62 who is the administrator at Hottrodders.com asking if they would adopt us I also included a link to Ryan's post about the Social groups and a link to our Members Map to show him we are not a small time show. So hopefully I will hear back and let you know, stig what is your log in name on that site ? I heard back and it looks like that is a bust, they recently went to the new system Ryan is looking at and they lost a ton of previous posts and information when they did it.:(:(

Thanks to the guys looking into those possibilities for us!
I know nothing about setting up websites or moving loads of information from one site to another, so it’s great to have others with expertise to try something like this!

Also joined today in case Ryan gives us the "eviction notice" I am not a computer whiz kid so I don't know if we can save our info from here and move it to a new site. It would be a shame to lose what we have put years into building.

I don't know how long MeWe will be around but I know they are not as left-wing nutty as facebook, they don't even have a jail.

Regarding FB, I joined a FH group there, looking for offset crank grinding info.

I didn't like it AT ALL. It's not like a forum group. To hard to follow for me and you can't tell the truth on FB.

I don't want to be come an Alliance member and this group still gets the axe. That's $50 I can't justify losing. I'll be gone too if this group disappears.

I'm with Bleach. This is the only part of the HAMB I use. I've found the main board is not as friendly to novice enthusiasts. On this group anyone can ask a question and get a honest answer.

I belonged to a Marx train group on Yahoo for years, yahoo decided to do away with their social groups also, someone in the group was able to archive the group and moved it so I’m still on it! Hopefully this will survive as well

I have found and used a lot of info on here, that is very hard to find anywhere else. The YBlock info, troubleshooting and mods are scarce and our 50's Fords aren't the most popular subjects these days.
Thanks for all the help over the years Jeff and I hope it survives.

I don’t know much about computers but the train social group ended up here in it’s entirety after Yahoo ended groups

Well, I may be banned shortly after the post I just did on the main board. So......guys, it's been a great group to be part of. Jeff..........you're the man, thanks for all you've done for this group from the start. I've only got to shake hands with a few of you, but enjoyed that immensely!
Just a new thought.....not in my main board post....maybe if the social forums are deleted, maybe Ryan can add new descriptions to the type of posts so we can search for "52-59 Ford"threads. And, I'm sure you guys with 57s are aware of www.57fordsforever.com
    Later, Rich

Flamed probably. It didn't seem that banishment would be a result. I agree with you Rich. They have their clique and you have to fit their mold or else. Been a good ride but I'm not holding my breath. Cheers Gents!

The biggest problem with facebook is they have idiots censuring things they know nothing about I'm on several 50's Ford Groups there I don't know how many times if I post a link to help someone they flag it and kick it to the curb and I get a notice it violates "Community Standards" which is total B.S. their "fact checkers" probably drive a Prius. :(
