...Not sure who inked this Tattoo but there's no question that it's an inspiration of @Littleman's 'Deaths Doorstep'...

Stogy, The painting was an award from Texaco! They had a car of the decade contest and the low bucket won the decade of the 20's. It was a popularity contest and I was fortunate enough to gather enough votes.

This wonderful car has been sold back to it's original builder and now resides in Texas. It was featured in a 1993 issue of HOT ROD!! I was privileged to be a caretaker of it for about 12 years.

Such a great story Pumper...I hope my Ole Hotrod gets the Caretaker treatment when I let it go...I've been just that for 5 years now...it's more a carrying of the period torch forward as there was a lot to like about 1963...

I hope you have a new Hotrod story to the parting ways with this one...it takes a unique vision to be sought as nailing it with no need for any mods...You saw that...The Art of Period Hotrod...

Thanks for chiming in and sharing that...I love the magic of the Hamb...;)

...I can't quite make the name of the Artist behind this admirable Cutaway of the Dick Frazier Roaring Roadster in Hotrod magazine...but we can celebrate it as that's one of the things Art is for...

Update...Tom Medley is very likely the Artist as mentioned by @lurker mick...

...This gem of a Hotrod Survives today in incredible condition it seems, upon further research it was wrecked in a serious track incident without death and was rediscovered many years later and restored...priceless...

    Quoted below...

"Dick Fraizer, Floyd Johnson, and Hack Winniger built this competition track roadster in Muncie, Indiana. It has a 1927 Ford Model T body, a 1928 Chevrolet chassis, and a Ford V-8 engine. Fraizer set a one-lap speed record of 84.23 miles per hour with this car at the Winchester Speedway in Indiana."

How's it coming together Angle? You don't have a build Thread that I'm aware of...

Hobby shop is full of friends cars. One is almost done (54F100), one should be done by November (30Chevy)
and one by April (67GTO). I have a 41 Pickup for myself I have been progressing on and want to finish that before I start back on the Roadster. Hard to say No when you have been taking care of old customers for years. I just turned 75 last week so I will be on a new 'five year plan'. So I would say I'll start back on the Roadster around April and stay on it til its done. I'll do a build thread at that time. May do one on the '41 also. Thanks for reminding me.:)

Doing what you enjoy, that sounds like your fulfilling a dream many of us share...;)

I'm sure I'm not alone in admiration of your former Hotrod and look forward to the build in the near future...

Thanks, I forgot the '63 Supercharged Avanti that will be done by the end of the year, a really off topic '92 Mustang I am doing over from another shop and a '72 Galaxie 500 Police cruiser for the County Sheriff. All of these projects belong to really good people. So my 7000 square foot shop is pretty full. And yes, I have a couple of good part time friends that hang out and help me.

  29. From the looks of the lettering, I'm guessing Tom Medley was the artist.

I had him on my mind but the lettering in the signature just didn't convey that but looking at it again you're right on the money @lurker mick...thank you...
