I'm planning on leaving Wednesday for the RPM Nationals in Cali.
I'm going to drive the '31 Cabriolet banger that just got a new (to it) B motor. I've been putting some miles on it building confidence in it, breaking it in and just enjoying the drive...but
Today, coming down Sedillo Hill (west bound) on old US66 all hell broke loose. Noise like you've never heard over the rattles, engine and wind noise. WTF....It sounded like WWIII then it was all over. I had immediately looked in the rearview to observe parts on the road....
    Nothing...
    No liquid trail...nada
It was over as fast as it had started all but just a shimmer of sun off of the clear plastic 'to go' meal containers...a half a dozen of them I would guess unused and invisible to the naked eye
Never saw them before and barely saw them after
Add this to your list of how to fu** with someone in an old car
I'm relieved that is all it was....yes I did

I wonder if he was able to flatten out the mound in his seat when all puckered up!

No, just bit a hole in it

Not on the road yet, just shaking things down. Just a couple of miles from home when this happened. I'm a lucky guy, I get to drive old US 66 everyday if I choose
Nice, yes they are the best of both worlds and open or closed car!

Surprised someone hasn't had something happen that made their heart stop while driving their hop up

Oh, I have. A few stuck throttles and loss of brakes.
Hitting into 2nd gear at about 50-55mph racing, blow spiders and lock up the rear. Gets a bit squirrelly in a pickup. Definitely pucker time for me.
