To be able to find the original car as it was raced in the 60's is amazing. I'm still looking for pictures of my my stocker from then, let alone the real car. Amazing deal.

LB, the '57 Chevy 283 cubic inch, 220 horsepower "Power Pack" combination, as delivered, has always been accepted with either a Carter WCFB or a Rochester 4GC at the same horsepower. That option has been in "the book" for as long as I can remember. Since Farmer Dismuke interpreted rules very strictly, I suspect that both were OEM originals. c
On factory power pack (220HP) cars in 57, all stick cars and Corvettes had Carters, along with all factory air cars, for fuel line clearance of the compressor. Automatics came both ways, Carter or Rochester.

You know I believe everything you say f.i.57 chevynut but I worked at a Chevy dealer from '59 to '65 and I never saw an automatic 220hp power pack '57 Chevy with a Carter WCFB. And back then I was under the hood of everything that came in for service.
