I made three separate posts this afternoon. They all have disappeared within minutes of being posted. Why are they being deleted?

I thought it was a simple enough question. I have swapped jag stuff into hot rods, and as I recall Vettes had independent rears in your time frame (63). I would have appreciated a simple note instead of delete, delete, delete.

NM. I did a quick search and see you delete everything that has the slightest hint of independent rears. My bad.

I always send notifications when deleting. It will be in the lightning bolt at the upper right corner of the page

Yes, he's the sheriff here. The rules, which are the very first thread, on top of the page where you make your intro, are laid out very simple. Then Ryan hired these moderators, that were chosen from an elite group of qualified car guys, that had to make it through the ninja warrior course, and pays them an obscene amount of money to enforce his said rules. Now I'm a huge fan of the part of society that contributes. I myself work, so i can relate to the fact that Moriarty has a job to do, and he's doing it to the best of his ability. I say, instead of all the whining, and crying about this place and it's moderators, we take this opportunity to lift them up, give them praise, for they are the law of the land! Are you with me people? (Watch Cob delete this lmao)

So, just out of curiosity where do ‘63, 64, and 65 vettes fall under the no irs ruling?

this is a hot rod site, we are not concerned with 100% original cars. we are concerned with the way people built hot rods in the era we cover (65 and older) and just because 1 person may have used a 65 vette rear in a hot rod back in the day does not make it traditional

The moderation here is very uneven and subjective. Example: late model transmissions (T5, 700R4 Etc.) stand, mention an LS engine...you are a leper.
Then you have the Charlie Watts and Phil Everly passing instantly deleted, yet Dusty Hill runs on for 4 pages with several different threads.

It's clearly stated in rule #6. I've had my shit deleted, I've reported posts that don't fit the rules, hell I've even snuck shit past the moderators. But i take nothing personal. It's not my website. It belongs to Ryan Cochran from what I've read, and the moderators are part of his posse. So if they like it, it stays, if not, or if too many people report it, they lock or delete it. @MCjim did you report the Dusty Hill thread as off topic? This is your site too.

    Rule #6 states...
Was your thread about something other than traditional hot rods and customs? Aside from a few "sidebar" topics that interest the staff here, we don't allow off topic posts. Your definition of "traditional" might differ from ours. That's fine. However, this is our forum and it's our definition that the forum is run off of.

  11. I have been a member since 2003, dangerously close to 19 years and I had had countless threads deleted, some off topic some just turned into sh!t storms and others who knows? the moderators make the call and you will learn it's a waste of your time to argue with their decision, just move on and forget it, a little rain must fall.

The T5 and 700R transmissions are not focal points , like a vette rear axle or a LS engine, we don't always agree with the rules but they are Ryan's rules and they are enforced. HRP

  12. Seems everyone has had their say, so, can we move on?

While I'm here, I have no time for posts about musicians, actors, sportspeople, gardeners or anyone else people may have a personal interest in. And I don't care if any of them 'owned' a car. Lots of people own cars, they're called car owners.
