The 2x2 blower top plates are back in stock on nystromperformance.com
Thanks everyone for all the support. Pattern making has proven to be a challenging but rewarding art to learn. I have only scratched the surface, but am going to continue to dive in! 20210507_195006.jpg

The first batch of the 3x2 GM 4-71 top manifolds just got completed. However, I made a mistake... I put in an order for 12 pieces from the foundry, they had some issues and only delivered six parts, which ended up being a blessing because I realized that I made a pattern mistake, making the base area in which the carburetors sit too thin. By luck, one of the parts wasn't too thin in that area, and was claimed as my only good part of the batch (and i am very pleased with it). With all that being said, the part that was claimed good is already called for, I modified the patterns and the they are going back out to the foundry for a higher quantity order. This has all been an awesome learning experience and I cant wait to get the next batch made as i continue to work on replenishing current items stock. Here are a few pics of the part in process.
p.s. there is a teaser picture at the end regarding the "land speed racing" portion of this thread as pointed out in the title.

Go man, Go! This is such a breath of fresh air! We desperately need more guys like you in this country. Wish you the best of luck. I'm not a flathead guy, but what you've got going on looks great.

Well, the motherboard went out on my mill, and I've got a big stack of parts ready to go into it as soon as it's back up and running! I am hoping to have a service tech out today. First fuse boxes will be made available, then I can start machining the big run of castings I got in. 3x2 4-71 supercharger tops, and finally 2nd generation fuel caps!

The four carb 4-71 patterns were sent out to the foundry a few weeks ago, and the six carb 4-71 is in the works, because why not. This will complete our line for 4-71 tops. 20211028_183401.jpg 20211119_214055.jpg

Just restocked fuse boxes and 3 carb 4-71 tops. Currently working on restocking gas caps. Not positive about gas pedals at the moment.
    Thanks

Fuse boxes are once again available! We are looking at having the balck inlays powder coated instead of painted, so we are currently only offering the cast finish inlays.
3 carb 4-71 tops are also available once again at https://nystromperformance.com
Alot of time, money, and lessons learned have gone into these parts. They're cast A356, heat treated, and cnc machined with excellent surface finishes and tolerances, all here in the USA.
Looking forward to moving on to machining the gas caps that so many of you have been asking about next.

We really appreciate all the support you folks have given us. Thanks 20211114_153709.jpg 20211121_144749.jpg

Most people have no idea what it takes to accomplish what you have with your parts enterprise. Looking back to the beginning of this thread, reading your goals and intentions, and then seeing the wonderful progress you have made in the last 3 years is impressive to say the least, and makes me very proud! Especially your vision and design talent, and handling all these aspects of design, sourcing, production, marketing, sales, fulfilment, and website. We need more like you in this country!

This little Bardons &Oliver #2 turrent lathe followed me home the other day. Just spent a few hours cleaning it up. I've been looking for a good lathe for a while now to little avail, and ended up purchasing this one despite it lacking a few features I was looking for. It came with a 6 inch 3 jaw chuck, collets, and a large variety of tooling. This should be handy for the occasional odd jobs of turning a bushing, spacer, piece of fixturing, ect. Now, just to string wiring and air. 20211128_180703.jpg

  20. Agree Joel. I for one HAVE designed and had parts cast to sell. It is a ton of work and my stuff was simple gas pedals and switch panels.

I don’t need a fuse block, but think I’ll buy one after the holidays to have.
    Fine work!

As I alluded to in the title of this thread, I am big fan of land speed. I fell in love with the idea of racing at Bonneville when I was about 14 years old. Well, about a year ago my father bought a land speed car. So we're currently in the middle of going through the chassis, and putting a motor together for it. I have never done any serous engine building, so it has been an awesome time learning about all this stuff from my dad who has a good 35 years of engine building under his belt. I am going to keep the specifics of the car rather vague, but here are a few pictures of what I've been working on for the car. 337 GIRDLE W CRANK.JPG 337 GIRDLE.JPG HEAD WATER JACKET 3.JPG

  30. Can't wait to see the car in person. Talked to your dad about it a bit. That girdle looks nice!
