I have been looking at a lot of old family pictures as of late having been cleaning out my Mom & Dad's place for the last several months. Dad's health has been failing and so naturally it makes you look back and remember your upbringing. Naturally there are a lot of old car pics with all the history of cars in my family. Dad had me playing with tools before I could walk and as you can see by the one pic; observing at an early age. I was a terror with tools very young to the point where the family would have to hide them on me. As one old story goes my grandfather gave me an old carb and a screwdriver to play with once thinking it would keep me occupied for "hours" Half hour later I had the carb stripped completely to their surprise. Two of my uncles drag raced, one very heavily and from the mid 60's up until just a few years ago. Everyone in the family always had an old car and stories of the ol days ripping it up. I'm lucky to have grown up with a great family surrounded by men who were honest, hard working and got shit done. Love the one pic of the men in front of the race car. From left to right, my Uncle Greg, Uncle Ross, my Grandfather Joe, family friend Glen and my Dad on the right. Pic is from 1969. As @Blue One just shared in the #canadianbacon thread we owe a lot to our Dads and family that have been part of our lives and hobby we love. Share away gents and thanks to all the old timers that came before us.

That first pic made me smile. My dad's first new car was a '56 Chevy Bel Air with power pack. Mom and dad brought their new baby boy (me) home from the hospital in that car.

My sister and I grew up going to drive in movies in the car and Dad gave it to me as my first car when I turned 16. Now embarking on a full build on her as she has sat for the last 20 years!

Those were indeed the good old days. And, yes they were good.

Thanks man, it is a classic pic for sure. My grandfather fought in world war II riding Harleys and doing some pretty tough stuff. I'll be lucky to be half the man he was. My Uncles and Dad all cut from the same cloth.

Let's see pics from you guys! We gotta share the history, keep it alive and honour the family that came before us!
