First time I've seen a mechanic with a tool sidecar, even though I've read about them, etc. They just didn't inspire many photographers I suppose different bike, same set up, probably a company of roadside repair, based on the closely numbered license plates

That's a real early model, possibly a prototype. Note the rounded fenders and bucket seats. Might have been scrapped by the factory or 'skunk works'. It would be a real prize today!
