VINTAGE SHOTS FROM DAYS GONE BY! (Part 2)

This pic looks to me like it was taken at Strauss or Livingstone airstrips, south of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, in 1942. The USAAF based P40 fighters there to intercept incoming Japanese raids bombing Darwin.
In 1943 the RAAF replaced the USAAF at these bases with Spitfires.

 

North Hollywood Sears opened in 1951 closed in 2000. Growing up my mom would take me there and while she shopped I would go to the best hobby shop in the valley. I could spend hours looking at the Britain toy soldiers.

 

I'd rather have a bigger track....
