There it is boys and girls.

No progress this week but we fired it off the first time last week. Had to figure out how to upland a video but created a YT channel..... so I got that going for me.

Got the engine primed and fuel up to the carb. Couple of cranks and some timing adjustments got it to fire off pretty easy.

Timing is still off, just spun the dizzy by hand until it fired. Played with the idle a little bit ots still off.. Needs some tuning for sure but she's alive!!!!

Now its time to wire it for real. We ran the tiniest wire I've ever seen from the battery to the coil just to get some power to start it.

    Getting closer.....

Spent a few hours masking off the interior this morning and about 10 minutes spraying some rubberized undercoat (bed liner). I highly recommend the Titeseal brand over anything else. Titeseal came out smooth and flowed nicely to cover. The other 3 brands I used came out pretty clumpy and crappy and made a huge mess. 3 cans of Titeseal did most of what I needed and the last can just made it look worse.

20210822_111322.jpg Next step is peel and stick Kilmat to finish off the sound deadening and heat reduction.

Peel and stick tar paper arts and crafts today. My phone camera took a dumper on me so this was the best picture I had. The first sheets are easy... just a simple square pattern. Then its an increasingly difficult series of triangles to fill in the floor where the body kicks out wide. Good thing we are covering it with carpet... not the prettiest but all it has to do is keep out some heat and noise.

    20210829_103417.jpg

Also started on the rear bulkhead. 1/2 sheet of plywood... this was also an early stage picture before it was fully fit. Looks great now (sorry camera broke).

Looks like the most likely place to mount the fuse panel will be on the bulkhead near the battery. The firewall and front kick panels are going to get real busy here in the next few weeks with AC parts and the trans controller.

Next week will be fitting the firewall jute pad and removing the stock cowl vent arm assembly. I wish I could keep it and will have to work on an alternative. I really like the idea of the cowl vent but its right where the AC wants to live.

Couple more steps out of the way. Forward progress... Ill take it.

Spent most of the day wrestling with the firewall jute pad and panel. If the car was stock it would have been a fantastic fit. We had to work around the pedals.... mostly that brake pedal mount. Got it all cut out and fit and mostly attached for the time being.

Next week I think the dash may go back in and start figuring out where that AC under dash unit wants to live.

Not the sexy glamorous stuff but I won't melt my flip flops to floor!!

Today I had a helper so we tackled the rear divider/firewall. A can of headliner spray and a roll of cheap speaker box carpet at the parts store and we were in business.

Measure twice, measure again and there's still barely enough material. Cut out enough to have some over lap to staple down and make a nice smooth panel.

Tracy folded up a nice C channel to set the panel in and a few sheet metal screws to hold it in place.

Passenger side done. Just need to repeat on the drivers side and we can check it off the list. Fuse panel will mount on the passenger side behind the battery and there's enough room to run the harness forward between the seat and inner fender.

Finished the second side at home with 2 more of the helpers. The girl measured and cut, stretched and glued, and stapled. The boy got in the middle of what the girl was doing but was a good helper and held the stuff she needed. The dog just wanted to lay in the middle of everything and got hair all over.

It's the team work that makes the dream work.

    New phone! Better pictures!

Got both the bulkhead panels installed and the fuse box mounted this morning. Enough room to run wiring up the passenger side.

More Kilmat on everything. Used a bunch of scrap pieces to cover behind the kick panels and under the cowl.

Last bit of insulation on the toe board and it's in and bolted down.

Slow couple of weeks on the car. Winfield and Watson show and a local show kept us apart. Pulled the toe board back out and replaced the 4 rubber snubbers because I've come this far so why not. Kinda surprised they were not in the body mount kit but they were cheap enough.

Finished stripping the dash board... ignition switch, radio, and cigarette lighter. Off to paint this week hopefully. Also, modified the guages to accept the Mooneyes 3 pack.

    20211024_150443.jpg

I'll post a pic once they are all together for the last time. Repainted the bucket and may have to have a new piece of glass cut... the OG appears to be etched and I can't get the paint off.

Few more small jobs for an easy Sunday morning. Got the horns mounted up behind the grill using an inner fender bolt.

Also, got a piece of glass cut this week for the guages. Everything mounted back in place. This will work until I can figure out something better. I like that I can still see the full sweep. The AC unit will mount where the guages normally would mount under the dash.

I will celebrate the small victories. Got all 7 of the screws that hold the sill plates down out with out stripping or breaking any. Few shots of PB Blast and a good whack with the hammer broke them loose.

    20211031_113116.jpg

Tracy is gabbing up a cover that will sandwich in between the sill plate and the weather strip. The wiring harness will run under the cover and help protect the wires until the interior goes in.

The body has a slight curve so we have to cut a few reliefs to allow some bend.

A few tack welds to hold the shape and it looks like it will hold up well.

Dash is painted. I think it came out a bit more green than I would like so it's going back for a repaint.

Screenshot_20211106-013101_Gallery.jpg Not sure which post is 465... if it's the red car that's a 33 Plymouth I believe... with a Hemi (and for sale).

    And thank you.

Also in the shop are a late 50s Dodge pickup gasser in the far corner, a custom crew cab pickup, a hot rod pick up, and the Plymouth on the lift.

Test fit the new stainless to the dash to see what I would be up against once it was installed.

    20211114_110048.jpg
Wrestled it into place and got some foam tape under all the contact points.

Looking better... I need to slot the holes in the column drop to fit the dash next week and install the rest of the guages. Not too bad considering wheb I took it apart all the bolts and screws ended up unmarked in a box. After a little careful sorting I think I have most of them in the right place.
