I just seen a post about Steve Koreing's (sp) Goldfinger Anglia being found. The article is a bit confusing because it says the chassis was used under a Corvette.
WOW! Thanks for posting the pictures of this piece of drag racing history. Wish it was sitting in my shop.
Incredible find. Oh man, what a ride that must have been piloting that short wheelbase rocket on a run in the 8's!
That's great, now to toss a coin to pick a livery to build it too...seems there were a few...England's answer to the Willys...the Pop sedans
I was at Vaca Valley race way for there Gasser Meet 1969 it was there in the build up lanes with the speakers and lights going . And Not when he made run . It was it was strange.
The remaining body is one of the iterations. Steve painted the original gold flake himself and it wasn't even lettered. It was morphed from a 32 Ford w/ injected 327 and ran A/G. He bought a blown 377 SBC and raced A/GS still w/ no lettering. I caught up w/ him after Vietnam and he had gone w/ and elephant and clutchflite. I'm glad I wasn't around in later speakers and lights era however. Flare became an important part of racing.
In later years Steve Korney ran a Corvette with the Stone, Woods and Cooke banner which was not part of the original team. Perhaps this is the car referenced in a prior post.
