History Images of vintage gas stations ~ pre 65

Back in the late 30's or 40's, my Grandpa Arvid Gunnarson bought a gas station in Annandale MN. This is him at the pumps.

 

The self-appointed HAMB police jumped all over me for posting a current photo of a pre-65 gas station. Looks like it's OK now; time to dig mine out again and post the rest.

This is a station in 26 with what appears to be a previsible Wayne pump. Other than that, I'm not going to hazard a guess as to what's going on in this pic.

here's a question. what is high test and what is the test they do? do they have low test gas?

 

I will hazard a guess that high test means it has a higher Octane knock test rating than regular.
