I saw this on a facebook with the caption "Women just can't understand how men can do this and be happy"
Once upon a time, a custom was about removing barnacles to reveal or accentuate a more pure form. That begins with nosing, decking etc. This car is the opposite. Totally over ornamented, over decorated and overdone.
That car is in Japan. Not sure if it was built there, or traveled across the pond from somewhere else. I hate everything below the moldings. It makes no sense.
I came across this photo from a few years back. I wholesaled cars for myself for 25 years and got two of these along with some tops and hoods for them from a local Ford store when it changed owners.
Have a question on your wheels, to get those caddy hubcaps to work on that Merc, what rim did you go with? Not a stock Merc wheel I know.
The Hollenbeck Mercury is one of my all time favorites. I got to see it in Paso Robles in 2001. Love the little details like the bumper gaurds, neatly trimmed down to fit the the front bumper. And the classic combo of 54 Pontiac grill center with '54 Chevy ends ... too coool ... and likely not just bolted on, but modified to fit the Merc grill shell perfectly. The back guard is equally amazing, combining a rear Merc center bar, with, I assume, some '53 Merc bullets and ends of a '55 Pontiac rear center bar.
