I'd want to thank everyone that "liked" the images I've posted over the past year. I will be taking a break over the holiday but looking forward to getting back to it next week. I'd also like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and safe New Year. Ron
The post of the '63 Pontiac Police Enforcer made me think of this photo of a '62 Enforcer. Fireball Roberts drove this one to a one lap top speed at the Brickyard of 122.132 mph, broke another record running 500 miles at an average of 113.293 in 4 hours, 24 minutes and 48 seconds and lastly set a new 24 hr. enduro record with 2586.878 miles at a speed averaging 107.787 mph. Ray Nichels prepped this car and a regular Catalina for the record runs and he was assisted in the pits by Smokey Yunick, Banjo Matthews, Bud Moore, Cotton Owens and Dale "Tiny" Worley. In addition to Fireball the drivers were Len Sutton, Roger Ward, Joe Weatherly, Paul Goldsmith and Marvin Panch.
