Dave raised an interesting point to me yesterday evening about the 11" or so difference in wheel base between a dodge and an a frame. I think the best route is to get the frame set level and put the body on then do a lot of clamping and unclamping of panels until i find the length i want to set those rear quarters at. Fortunately the length of them allows for almost a foot of adjustability. At that point if i need to lengthen my wheel base i can extend it to match where i z my frame. It should be easy to add inches within the z. Trying to figure out now how much to z, im leaning toward something mild like 4"

Being " geographically challenged " as I am, as in there aren't any car parts in my area as good as the stuff you guys in the NW seem to have laying around everywhere, I think you should take pity on me. Go ahead and mark it up so you make a modest, note the word modest, profit and sell it to me while you remember the overall cost of the trip I would have to make in order to acquire it. In fact, being as it's the holiday season and you appear to be a generous, kind hearted individual, perhaps you would consider delivering it, in the spirit of good will and all that. After all, is it not better to give than to receive? ;)

Got out for an hour this evening and made some small progress, got it inside and out of the snow, fixed the passenger rear quarter a little bit and got the body tacked together. I think a cpl inches need to come out of the middle of the seat back beacuse the cowl sits right on the a frame like its meant to be there but the back is waaay too wide IMG_20211226_202031.jpg 20211226_190052.jpg 20211226_190141.jpg

Wide ass would allow for more rear end choices. More room for tank, suspension etc.

True but its too wide, cpl inches outside the frame on either side, i could widen the frame and find middle ground but im going to slowly start nipping and tucking

Would a 29 Dodge frame be too big for you?

Love it, please post details. How does cowl width compare to model A or 32 Ford?
Add a bit on the front, take a little outta the rear - call the car Hollywood. :D

Well, I went out to take measurements and it's frozen and covered in snow. I was able to come up with a wheelbase of 112". I also know a 33/34 coupe almost fits on it like a glove. The cowl forward gets narrower like Model A. If not running full front fenders then it probably wouldn't matter much.

Maybe someone on here can post dimensions for both of us.

That this is COOL!!! Build it long, like a '31 Cadillac roadster or short nosed '32 Duesenberg, the extra cockpit room would be delightful. It's unusual enough that the average booger picker wouldn't know what he's looking at!!

Wheelbase on an a is 103.5 i believe. Went out and did some cutting, narrowed the seat rear as much as it felt like it would allow, trimmed the quarters and tack welded em in, 1.5" narrower at bottom of trunk than tge top now, might just widen the lower filler to make up the difference, starting to look better 20211227_161300.jpg 20211227_161037.jpg

I think im gonna wrap the seat up and over the back to the outside so i wont have to blend that top body line, itll dissapear inside the seat. Kind of like this Screenshot_20211227-204029_Gallery.jpg

Well i have a bud with a huuuge pile of parts im gonna go look through this week, a 36 rear end with wide 5 wheels is on the list, a model a front axle also on the list then by my understanding i can get some late 40s brakes for both and i think ill get some wide 5 adapter plates and run juice brakes with the wide 5 wheels if i can find the whole set, only saw 2 in the pics. Also will be hubcap hunting, steering box hunting, column hinting, steering wheel perhaps. Not exactly positive what im looking for haha, i do think ill use the 36 ford leaf spring setup and stretch the a frame back 6 inches with a different crossmember when i z the frame
