I've sat in front of that fireplace. We were just driving by and decided to stop and check it out. Timberline is a pretty cool place.
RG 10 of the Early Ford V8 Club held a Western National meet at Timberline, Or Early 80's later 70's?
I didn't know they had a flying bus at Timberline at one time... never heard of it! Of course, I've never snow skied... every time I went to Timberline, they were carrying some poor slob in a stretcher... decided I am capable of doing dangerous/stupid stuff for free, no need to buy a daily pass for a place to get hurt!
Thanks for posting these pics of Timberline Lodge, @Jack Wagon. For anyone who has never seen the lodge, if you ever get the chance, check it out. It was built by the WPA in the '30s, and the workmanship/craftmanship/artistry in fantastic!
The building and history is something else. If you can find pics or videos of the construction and conditions they faced you’ll appreciate that the $1.00 a day they were paid then isn’t today’s minimum wage.
