Projects Just Another Hemi Powered Model A Coupe Build

This one is going to be worth the wait. Getting slicked up reallllll smooth. Still can’t wait to see it done…

Been wondering when you were going to show it off, what is the overall plan?!

 

March will be 2 years since the chassis has been completely done and waiting. Just gotta get the body painted and drop it on. Really got screwed by the first paint shop.

It’s at my place getting bodyworked/painted now. With the help of my buddy @54chevkiwi who’s been doing an awesome job! It’s having to be worked into rotation with the other projects so progress is taking awhile. But it’s gonna get done. And more importantly, done right.

The first burnout is long overdue for this one boys. But I can smell the rubber already.

 

The chop looks great ! Looks like it was made that way. Can’t wait to see it on the road

 

.......The cowl band does lend a classy look though.

 

My pal, Tom, included the cowl band on his project. It took going through a few to find the best one, but I like the results. Maybe a dark color does it more justice than a lighter one.

By day im a mild mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper...
well, cnc machinist..
By weekends im doing this car so itll be slow going not being on it full time..

id like to point out what i was given to work with by the previous body man was grim, im not sure who that was but ... yea. I dont want to post pics of that mess here because i dont want those pics associated with dans build, but i plan to do a write up on what i found at some point, i think itll be a valuable lesson on how to know if a body guy is legit.

I heard Dan did all the metal work prior to you getting ahold of it.

 

Oh it wasnt the metalwork, it was the mud work that comes after

 

And I get to do some of it again after the door skins got destroyed

 

Coupe got some more time in on it. Coming out nicely. Gotta bodywork the rear quarters and deck lid. Then do the door metalwork…again…and bodywork those.

 

Looks good so far, getting there

 

And another panel getting slick and smooooooth.

 

Other quarter smooth and slick. Schedule conflicts shoving this one to the back burner again for a bit.

 

Killer build and thread! I'm not sure how I missed it previously. I'm sure there is more to the door skin story...probably not a good one.

 

Awesome build.

 

Driver side door all fixed up and reskinned with the perfect panel that @MP&C made to replace the wrecked one. Awesome work as always Robert!





And @54chevkiwi has the heavy lifting done in the bodywork department. High build is on and everything really looks great and straight/sharp.
